Thread title.

Now that my Warhammers are basically kitted out (except the 7D, no idea what to do there, it's an insufferable mech), I think I should revisit my Cyclops.

I have the basic kit. How do you think I should proceed with these luxury mechs, with their wonderful field of view and deluxe sensor suite?

I made one into the ultimate EW command mech...added Command Console/BAP/TAG/AMS/Adv Sensor Range with 2 LPL and 5 LRM5 on the CP-10-Q. It's just missing ECM and NARC (for the EW part).

Not the most powerful thing out there but I love being able to see from so far away...pretty easy to rack up scouting bonuses. Was running it with 2 ERPPC and 5 SRM4s but I like this current setup better.

For the Q variant, SRM Brawlers are very mean SOBs, just be sure to put in a big enough engine to be able to throttle out of tight situations once you've finished maiming your opponent with 6X SRM 6, or go full LRM boat with 6X LRM 5 or whatever you like with LRMs.

For the A variant, you can either go lil' Atlas, with a AC/20 and 3X SRM 6 with backup lasers, or go 3X AC/5 with 3X SRM 6. the AC SRM is good for many ranges, but your main problem will probably be either speed or XL checks that people love to try. For the 1st loadout, your only problem will be range if you use a Standard, and if you use an XL (which isn't recommended), you'll have to worry about your STs also.

For the Z variant, I have done 6 Mediums and a AC/20. I have not done much experimenting with it as I had also gotten the Hero, which is a Recommended pickup if you already haven't.

So, Q is a SRM/LRM boat, the A is a smaller Atlas or Close/Long range build, and the Z is a Boar's head generally (if you have tried one before, head to PTS if it's still live to test one out for free.)

@OP: Start by using SRM4s. Sprinkle in lasers and ACs to taste. Some variants have enough hardpoints to mix in a few LRMs, and one is a solid UAC5 boat.

Step 1: Boot up MWO.

Step 2: Select "Inventory"

Step 3: Select "BattleMechs"

Step 4: Select the Cyclops variant in question.

Step 5: Select "Sell"

Step 6: Make sure equipment and modules are unchecked.

Step 7: Select "Sell"

Step 8: Confirm your sale.

Step 9: Profit.

I'm still refining my Cyclopses, but the SRM 10Q is definately my favorite so far. Currently it's running 3MPL & 7ASRM4 with an XL390. I may drop or downgrade the lasers to run an XL400, since the SRMs fire quite rapidly and do more damage for the heat. Still waffling on that revision.

On my 10Z, I run three large lasers (stacked in one arm) and a Gauss rifle, also with an XL390 for quick repositioning. It's kind of feast or famine, depending on how well you're able to pop and twist. If you twist well, you're a nasty mid-range damage dealer, but if you don't twist well, then your Gauss will get popped, and whether the rifle explosion kills you or not, that's the end of your match.

The 11P has been the bane of my existance. I've gone through 101 builds, and none of them quite satisfy, usually because the hardpoints on another variant allow the build to be done better.

I tend to find that despite having 101 CT armor they still drop like a bag of shite from being cored instantly the damn things are worse than Banshees for it and they are terrible and it dont matter how much I torso twist it still cores me almost instant just dont get it myself

That's part of the reason the SRM 10Q builds are so awesome. Sure, you might go down in thirty seconds of fighting, especially if you get focused, but you'll kill two other mechs in those thirty seconds. And if you don't get focused, then you'll get to murder everything.

How to Cyclops? Same as what other non-Kodiak Assaults do. Follow a Kodiak, let it draw fire, while you profit.

It's no good, most of my Assault Training hours were on Kodiak, with only a few on Banshees.

The Cyclops is, surprisingly, XL friendly.

Should XL 390 be the engine I'm using in more of them?

I did pretty well in the leaderboard with the CP-11-A with 3 AC5s and 3 SRM4s, and the biggest STD engine I could squeeze in. I think it was like a 340 or something.

Assuming you don't have the Sleipnir... which I like the XL380 2 UAC5 2 AC5 build, but others do the STD300 4 UAC5 build as well.

I don't know nothing about no Cyclops but the Warhammer 7D does not exist in this game that I am aware of. Did you mean the 6D? Or the 7S? If it's the 7S you are having trouble with, the 7S is my favorite of the Warhammers so I might be able to help you with the Warhammer 7S.

I ran that when it was released, and it was definitely fun, but for a dedicated brawler I think the SPLs sustain damage better.
