Will be playing both depending on how much game time I have for the session.
1~3 hours, MWO.
3+ hour, Battletech.

I'll Play both. They are completely different games, just share the same theme.

One is turn based strategy game with a solo campaign and the other is an online PVP FPS.
They satisfy different game "fixes".

I will definitely play both, but I suspect BT will quickly get boring, because, well. PvE.... Of course, if they develop something better than the current, jump or run your mech behind each AI mech and kill them, maybe that will stay interesting a little longer, but they don't seem to be very ambitious.

As for the PvP in BT, since it's bolted on and not the primary focus, we can only hope it will be worthwhile.

Two totally different styles of game so it will depend on my mood. However I love turn based games and if HBS is good it will likely get more play time especially since I get sick of team death match. Would be nice to have some real PVE with co op missions (that earn cbills) and some more dynamic pvp modes but I can't help but feel that is a pipe dream.

I'll just play both. I don't need to pick either. Neither have a subscription. So I can enjoy both at my leisure.

By buying mech packs for MWO, I pay for more mechs in HBS BT.

Especially if you are buying classic Inner Sphere 'Mechs.

I still plan on playing both. They are different genres anyway, so one won't completely eclipse the other.

I have been taking an extended break from MWO (haven't played in maybe 3 months), but I do plan on coming back eventually. I just burned myself out on it. MWO has fun gameplay elements and mechanics after all, but just lacks substance so I'm honestly surprised it took me this long to need a break.

I think Battletech will take up most of my gaming attention from Beta through to release. Playing Shadowrun, I can see that HBS has talent when it comes to these sorts of games. I think the Beta will be fun and engaging for a bit, and then once the final build is released, it will have the substance to keep me occupied for a while.

Either way, I can make time for both...I think.

Ill play both .. I like stompy robots. This is the best stompy robot shooting game that exists right now. the HBS game is turn based strategy, so ill play that when i fancy some downtime with no need for skills... i don't see how they are in competition*

*except for the absolute lorehammer folks who only want to see CBT faithfully incarnated on a PC screen, and ill be happy as hell to see those folks go, since i blame them almost entirely for all the whining.

I have to LOL @ all the salt in this thread. Someone call Morton's PGI could be making a fortune off all the tears.

I bounce between arma 3 and mwo. I gave up the rts itch, but if the game is interesting after release hype. "Stop Pre-ordering". Then I may make a purchase and put it in the rotation.

It's to bad more people who expected so much so quickly from a company and property such as this never played a Brad McQuaid game. This is Disney land. Grow up and move on if it is so terrible. Certainly posting here and leaking all that salt on everything is nothing but corrosive to those still getting enjoyment from the title.

I am still undecided if I should check Beta or wait for the finished and polished full game.

Content. Like the previous MW titles, being part of some kind of story or campaign is what I want. I don't care if it is single player, mulitplayer, first person, third person, strategy, etc. It's all about content for me.

When HBS BT becomes playable, I will play the game that has what I want. I would encourage everyone else to do the same. Play whichever game you feel delivers what you are looking for.

I've never gotten into turn based games like that, so no interest in battletech at all.

Mechwarrior is losing my interest as well at this point since its the same old **** for the last 5 years.

My gaming time right now is in Elite:Dangerous, but I'm not even spending too much time there.

It's not as if MWO is the only game I'm playing. WoWs, Sunless sea, Fallout 4, Dreadnought and Fractured space are just a few of my other passtimes. Once battletech is out, logically, I'll put some more time in it to see how it plays. But I guess things will even out afterwards.

If you think you will like it, then it might be worth it for you to become a late backer. The game is only $25 at this point and purchasing that base backer level will get you into the beta. Even if the game releases for $25 or $30, it might be worth it for the early beta access alone.

With all early access games there is a risk in getting something that might never be finished, or might not meet expectations. I still feel though that HBS has a good proven track record and they seem (from Q&As and forum posts) to have very realistic goals. HBS has no problem stating that a feature won't be in game or is outside of scope for release. After the No Man's Sky debacle, it is nice to hear a dev actually tell you what will and won't be in game (even if it can be rather blunt at times).

Overall, If you think you will like a turn based tactical RPG along the lines of XCOM, Front Mission, FF Tactics, etc..., you like things Battletech, and you are willing to take the risk on an early access game, then I think getting into the beta for HBS's Battletech would be a good idea.

At the end of the day though, even if you like RPGs like that and Battletech, if you aren't comfortable with the gamble of Early access, it doesn't hurt to wait either. Just IMO, I think it is a very small gamble in this case.

I will play both most likely, depending on the game demands for Battletech is if I will play it on my laptop and then play mwo on my desktop. Which then since battletech is turn based I could play both at the same time.

I'm one of those wierdos who prefer BattleTech as the gods of my people decree it should be, on the tabletop.

So I'll stick with MWO.

This game is a real time FPS and Battletech is a turn based strategy game, apples and oranges. I love the setting, so I will be playing both when the mood strikes me. I like both game types but sometimes one can't give the same fix as the other, just like neither of these games will keep me from playing ME4 Mercenaries, a Total War game or Skyrim. Despite a few gripes with this game, MWO is still great fun for me.

I am a Valhalla-level Backer from the initial Kickstarter wave - I am going to have access to the Beta.

My thought was something akin: "Should I waste my time on a game in Beta, with incomplete features, freezing, not saving settings or something, etc.? Perhaps it would be better to wait until May or June to play the finished product where I can concentrate on gameplay instead of programming errors."

You know, I was in MW:T Beta ... Posted Image

I'm not sure HBS Battletech will be competing for the same time. Depends on the replayability, and what type of PvP scene the new game develops. For example, I loved the new XCOM game, but ultimately I only played through the campaign twice. Would've been just the same old after that.

Whether I'll be playing MWO depends more on where this game goes in the coming years. Right now I'm at a stage where I feel MWO needs something profoundly new (good faction play, good game modes, long-term career goals, something) to keep me playing.
