Wait! What? Sized hard points would negate the need for all these nerf issues? LIAR! well maybe...... since most of the issues are boating large amounts of large weapons.

Yep sorry about that.

One possible solution is for the ENTIRE MWO community to go merc --- specifically Jade Falcon mercs and just sit in FP queues for a week. Just make the ENTIRE map JF. They want to cater to Clans then just break the game beyond existence.

Best idea ever!

Alas, no.
Russ made it pretty clear in both the town hall and the subsequent NGNG podcast (145) that he could not care less about the state of the CW map or where the imbalance lies. The core game play is fine remember? If everyone went merc, and then JF; he would either not notice or care, or simply decide that such action justifies his views. I can just see the next staff meeting: "See the players all want a single bucket, they went into just one all by themselves".

Mechs with poor hardpoints need weapon quirks

Some even need GodQuirks (those 50% off ones)
Spider 5V being a prime suspect......who doesn't get it....

But they should not be the baseline for balance, which is exactly what PGI is doing
Only quirked Spheroid mechs compete against the good Clams, which should not be the case

I respectfully disagree. Clan weapons, especially energy have one big advantage. That is range. Their slight damage advantage is offset with longer burn times and higher heat. Most the Clan weapons have advantages in some area with a downside to offset that advantage. To offset the range advantage toughen up the IS Mechs so they can survive to get into range. I can accept additional armor or structure being built into a Mech easier than some sort of arbitrary supercharger being placed on a weapon.

Bad Mech designs with bad hardpoint locations are simply bad designs. Whether they be Clan or IS, I do not agree with artificially propping them up with massive weapon quirks to make them viable.

Clan Gauss rifle is, tonnage and crits aside, identical to the IS version. Same damage, same range, same heat, same everything.

I can easily explain the nerfs:

the light mech class is now hardly represented anymore and got kicked time and again in its balls...now they look for other unsuspecting victims who never saw it coming haha.

yet the KDK3 remains unchanged...

But I am sure we can all agree it is about time they cut the Enforcer and Shadowhawk down to size. Those things were wrecking the game!! Am I right, guys?

LOL Genus my friend the Shadowhawk and Enforcer need to be nerfed while the KDK-3 needs more buffs its not tough enough... LOL
