However I also see a good chance for the Nightstar. It is a potent assault design of 95 tons and so far the only IS 95 tonner is the ancient Banshee (ancient both in-universe and in game terms). It probably would not be a Kodiak-killer but extremely powerful in long range combat thanks to the torso shape.
Perhaps PGI brings a quasi-light Mech like the Assassin if they refuse to give us lights. Anyway the 40 ton bracket is very interesting because there are a lot of Mechs which could be nice in MWO. And there are a lot of 40 ton Mechs I like: Vulcan, Clint, Hermes II, Assassin and my favourite: the Sentinel:

- seven canon variants possible in MWO --> no PGI invented non-canon variants other than the hero.
- good diversity in the variants
- high speed
- it's 40 tons, so far we only have the Cicida in that field
- a challenge for Alex to make it look nice
It pains me that I have to agree because I like the Valkyrie a lot, and I am not really a fan of the Javelin. But there is no doubt the latter would be far more enjoyable in MWO. It has five canon variants ready for MWO, so no PGI-variants other than the hero, and these variants offer some diversity including laser boating and ECM.
Actually my heart beats for the Fireball. With the usual 1.4x multiplier its engine cap would be 310. And that means some 270kph top speed.
It also means we will never see it...
Yeah so the Valkyrie would have a 210 engine cap... Kinda sad rlly. The Javelin would have a 250 max engine. For comparison, the Arctic Cheetah has a locked 240.

70 Tons, JJs, ECM, nice differentiation between lore variants
That would be new territory for Pgi. Generally they've avoided extinct mechs. In this ones case it was stamped out purposefully by Kerensky.
