You guys screwed up again though. You only put the unlock pattern on sale and not the one-shot. I've RARELY seen you do the one-shot discount. What's up with that?

Patterns are crazy-priced, yes. Permanent patterns only ever make sense if you plan to change the camo of a mech multiple times, especially if you have multiple variants of the chassis. But since it's locked to a single chassis only this niche case well ever justify not just getting a one-shot pattern.

Colors aren't quite so bad, I think, since once you get one you can use it as much as you want across all your mechs. Just pick a few colors you like and give all your mechs the same general camo scheme. If you really know what you want you only ever need to get 3, and you can test them all out beforehand before buying anything, even on mechs you don't own yet.
It's crazy if you want every one of your mechs to look different though.

Yeah...permanent unlocks are only useful to buy if that mech comes in a LOT of variants and you plan to own them all (battlemasters, hunchbacks, locusts, pixies, etc). I got the hotrod for battlemasters during a sale in february for that reason. Usually though I only get unlocked patterns as part of event prizes or because it came as part of a mech pack and sometimes then the pattern you get looks as appealing on the mech as running your fingers thru someone elses warm snot (such as the cobra pattern on the vipers).

Did that ever happen? I've been playing most events for about 3 years, and I don't remember pattern unlocks being part of it?
(Or was it the "top tier grand prize", which I probably hadn't bothered getting..?)

I've never seen that before (but I started playing at the beginning of 2016) but right now there is the tiger pattern as a prize for those who bought the huntsman.

Oh since it was asked and not answered...they don't discount 1-shot patterns ever because they're already typically 1/10th the price of a pattern unlock. Which means they're always the better value for mech models you only have a handful of, unless you frequently switch the camo patterns back and forth. Faction patterns for example are useful because they have regular assigned colors for those patterns that come with them (though not typically unlocked). If you build out a drop deck around the same mechs and are on a merc unit that runs all matching camo for the faction you're working for, you'd find the camo unlocks a better value.

One Shot patters do occasionally go on sale or at least did a few times in 2015. It is a very rare occurance but it does sometimes happen...even as much as 50%

Any word yet when the new halloween warhorn is available for sale? It still shows the phoenix warhorn instead. At least when you use the sale filter.

Or have a laugh at your own inability to have figured out that what was done in the past isn't done any longer, and thus what I posted is in fact, accurate and true to the game today.
