MWO is in a trap. There are a lot of BIG problems that are not solved. There is the easy way, and the right way. You must stop making new mechs, and start fixing the game! You may get money now for the mechs, but in the long run you will be in a loss if players start leaving you...
There must be:
1. new features for the maps (interactivity, optimizing, ways to make heavy players brawl and light scout like in WOT and Graphical improvements that wont choke a i7 Rig).
2. Make mechs lumbering beasts, and not jumping chickens with 100 alfa damage.
3. Make Hardpoint Size restriction!, Make Energy Draw! Make Pilots with skills! Make new Game mods! Make something!
4. The game looks worse then Beta and it is more hardware demanding! You "solved" problems buy cutting them out of the game!
lazy, lazy, lazy...

I see that devs are lengthening the patch notes, but mega patches are becoming hot fixes and nothing is done.

I Am Very Disappointed with the game, and i think that this game has little more time to get fixed or it is history. I did not play it for few mounts, and i see all is now the same.

You brought some good points there fellow mechwarrior. I'm with beta from day zero...and general feel of gameplay changed to worse in my honest opinion.

You think Energy Draw and hardpoint restrictions are good?

Well now I know that I have nothing more to say to you, other than you are wrong!

Energy Draw is cancer. It will not draw new people to play MWO. It will cause existing players to leave. That number may be debatable, but no + versus a definite - is bad.

Its a trap because every time they try to solve a problem they make it worse. They think that more and faster is better, but opposite is true. More mechs, more alphas, more speed, bigger maps... It is all nothing if new mechs are basically the same, if player exploit alphas, if mechs are too fast to enjoy the fight, if big maps lead to NASCAR and lemming tactics.

This, I agree with. Back in Beta we had better graphics for mechs--and no stupid barnacles for damage indicator--as well as inverse kinematics. And that spiraling LRM flight...hnnnng.

I agree with you but I see graphics as the least of our worries.

Hard point restrictions....absolutely! I have a 120 mechs and it is so redundant I dunno why I even bought most of them. Hard point restrictions would help make each one more unique. Also, hardpoint restrictions can work both ways. It can restrict a small weapon going into a slot as easy as it can restrict a large weapon. It would help with all the Clan small laser spam we are seeing.

You know they had to dial it back due to people with potato computers.

That, and they have no idea how to optimize a game, so every time they add anything new, it chugs just that tiny bit more. What I wouldn't give for some optimization finally.

Return 8v8 and there would be resources for better graphics. Multiple draw calls on 24 mechs is the problem...

8 vs 8. God I miss that. I also wish River City's buildings didn't pop in and out as I turn my mech. It's disgusting.

agree with the general pgi bashing. but the op is just using the tried and true forumula: "this game sucks/is dieing/is on shakey footing" followed by "heres the stuff i want, implement it and the game will be saved!" no ones itemized list will save the game.

he does hit on one point though. the fastest/easiest way is not always the best way. they have proven time and time again that they just dont want to do the work. they are using what little talent they do have, the art department, to keep the game funded with mechpacks so they can all live out their fantasy of being game developers. what they dont seem to understand is that with slightly more effort and the right kind of people that fantasy can become a reality. instead of cut'n'paste shovelware they could make this game worthy of its title. instead of taking it as an insult, pgi should take it as a challenge to do better.

MWO is what happens when you fire all the people who wrote the original code. Then you bring in new people and they patch in improvements. Then you fire those guys and bring in a new set to try and keep it together so you can sell some mech packs.
