Fixed that for ya.

Believe it or not... There's actually more players who never visit this forum than the number than do.

You got a sampling from a very vocal minority. I wouldn't cling to those numbers so tightly. Posted Image

You are welcome to go knock on doors and get your people to the polls.

However, your characterizing 450 votes out of 600 as a vocal minority sounds a bit FoxNews. Posted Image

One of my favorite White Knight argument strategies is to assert that PGI has data based on actual games played, and that is why they make/made whatever stupid/absurd change the rest of us are complaining about at a given time. But I do love when PGI does something that even the White Knights dislike. Then they shift to: the change was made because they listened to a vocal minority of whiners. Wait, what about all that data?

In the case of ED this hypocrisy is even more blatant, because PGI set up the PTS for the sole purpose of collecting that data. Which now either shows a problem and PGI is reacting to that problem. Or that data shows no problems, but for some reason PGI is instead choosing to listen to a "few" whiners who were out to ruin ED.

Just priceless.

Seriously. All you "vocal minority" callers, please encourage the alleged "majority" to go vote on it, wherever they may be.

I doubt they did. I'll repeat what I said somewhere else:

Both good and bad.

Good because now we can have more time to deal with energy draw until later, and we can enjoy that much more without having to worry about ED.

Bad because some of us forumwarriors and others think that Russ shelved it because of Twitter and whining, which is false. ED was shelved mainly because of Mechcon that is coming soon, I think they wanted to shift more resources onto it to be more prepared for when we do go to it, and not have some halfass job of something to remember 2016 and the championship by.

Way to ignore the arguments against energy draw. I play non-meta mechs all the time, and the non-comp tier mechs are the ones I am actually worried about. You need to open your eyes and actually read the arguments against ED instead of spouting some crappy assumptions based on ignorance.

As the saying goes, ignorance is bliss. Posted Image

Plus I cant stop buying mechpacks so I'm too invested anyway.

Well, he isn't wrong if the subset of 600 votes is representative of the larger community as a whole. Whether that is the case *shrug*, considering it at least go posted on reddit, I'm sure quite a few of the comp minority voted so it may not, but then again I'd say the comp players are more likely (notice I said likely, as even they can be divided and wrong on what is best for gameplay) to make the informed decision on what is best for the game.

Here hold my beer!

I think I'm going to start a new thread called "The silent majority have whispered to me and they said they want the Mad Cat MK II!"

Anyway kidding aside. The poll has spoken I'm sorry but even if we are the vocal minority we are the only ones who really care if MWO sinks of swims!

Aha, so we're going to remember 2016 for the tournament and NOT something half-assed.

I'm trying to keep a straight face.

I'd love to discuss the alt-account ballot stuffing and comp-group fraternization inflation but I honestly don't have the breath to waste... Posted Image

They can't be bothered to visit this forum, what makes you think they'll drop in to participate in some contrived poll, not even mentioning I have no greater desire to prove or disprove this premise.

Alt-accounts work for both sides, hell isn't Atlas Overlord = Ordellus? He voted twice technically if that is the case, but the comp players did come out in droves for this vote so it was indeed a bit one sided (even if a few comp players voted for PD, like bearclaw and VVonka).

I dunno about you, but last time I remember the use of "silent majority" was used to justify a lot of the more unpopular decisions in MWO history.

I don't think you want to use them any more than PGI's random use for "telemetry" for inane balance decisions made either.

Yes, they are the same person. I haven't used my alt account to vote because I thought that was dishonest.

Sure, I mostly consider ED to be Ghost Heat 2.0, or 3.0 or whatever... GH1 does fill a purpose, it just does it in a way that is unintuitive and not integrated in the HUD, and it's full of inconsistencies.

So, PGI can integrate GH in the HUD and make it more consistent. They did not have to build a new mechanic and discourage mixed builds even more.
