Looks like we're poking this bear again. I mean really, do we need another thread to stir up the hornets nest? And define working game.

Support has never been anything but helpful from my experience. Them and Alex are the true MVPs.
Agreed. Sometimes support will go the extra mile and i can appreciate that, they truly care about the players.
Give them and Alex a raise or a bonus!

In all honesty I think that real problem is that PGI keeps devoting time and effort to try to fix what isn't broken. The core gameplay is fun. We don't need PD, we don't need our mechs quirks changed every month, we don't need sweeping changes to the core system. What we do need is for the rest of the game to be fun and engaging.
4 years in we should have 20+ maps. We should have a fun and engaging FW system. We should have a real character/pilot progression system that gives us a reason to play besides collecting mechs. We should have missions like escort, defense, attack, protect, etc. It would even be nice to maybe have NPC tanks and maybe infantry randomly placed around the battlefield either aiding or hindering us as we fought.
This is what is holding the game back, not the core gameplay. I mean sure, there are issues. I mean I would love to see Hover jets turn back into Jump Jets, I would love to see Clan Omnimechs balanced differently so that they weren't so restricted in their customization, a few mechs could be buffed and a few could be nerfed, but all games have issues and nothing is perfect and again I will say, the core game play is fun.
So yeah, I honestly feel that many of us including the devs are really focusing on the wrong things. The core game play is good enough flawed as it is, that it can stand on its own....IF.....the supporting game play features are also fun. What we are lacking is those deep, fun game play features. That needs to be PGI's focus, not PD or Quirks or whatever else the hell they want to tinker with.

Also. The community is hugely divided and cannot agree on anything. There have been a few minor things that the community has requested and the company eventually delivered on. And yet they still met with flak by people on the forums for one reason or another. There's just no way they can make the game purely on player feedback.

Are you implying that MWO is bad so their support team will have jobs?

Considering CW was the goal, MWO is a failure.

Back then, I don't recall anyone disagreeing with the above.

This is where people that are happy with what MWO is are missing the point, everydamntime. FFS they didn't pitch an 12v12 arena shooter that rinses and repeats until you vomit of staleness saturating us with mechs that essentially all do the same thing with the 3 or 4 viable weapon systems.
Beyond a snore at this point.

I do not recall mentioning the game itself while praising the support staff. In fact, the only thing i was implying is that the support staff are excellent in the way they handle tickets. Which thus implies, not all of PGI are bad or incompetent (or whatever adjective you choose to describe them as).
While the game itself is not perfect, it's still fun... as long as certain aspects remain out of the game that will make it less fun.
And there's my contribution to this thread.
