these guys played the game too, once upon an time. they stopped playing but feel strongly enough to keep posting. i'd be frigging TOUCHED if someone cared about MY work enough to do that.

Why, with no vested interest beyond slagging a game they longer play?

Feel too strongly......about what?

It didn't fit into their version of a perfect game and therefor they must slag it at every opportunity?

The crux is they don't play anymore,

Lets leave the complaints to the players that actually do play now.

I'm still playing the game.

Salt crisis averted.

Carry on.

I have no doubt that you folks care.

I hope you don't listen to the deafening noise of negativity here.

Keep this game rolling!

Damn straight.

I love it for what it is, not what it isn't. It's the only place anywhere that I can run the Rifleman, Marauder, Phoenix Hawk that brought me into Mechwarrior over twenty years ago in Multiplayer Online Battletech. That'll do for me. Everything else is gravy.

I fought for:
>all size groups
>VOIP
>NO PSR
>fought to postpone steam launch till a better NPE could be made
>better NPE (New player experience)
>engine upgrade
>PVE and new revenue streams

I spent over $2,500 on the game and I'm going to MechCon in Dec (Another $700 spent). I haven't played since feb and stopped buying packs since the cyclops. Why? Because after 4 years of the same old pvp the game is boring!

Sure the core game of MWO is solid, but it pains to watch the leadship squander Mechwarriors potential in things like e-sports and the dead game mode called CW.

Never once did I say I wish this game would sink. I have however pointed out that ignoring your paying customers is NEVER a good business practice. Instead we got a year long tournament, a mini-map update no one asked for, and supply caches...

Gaming forums in general are vile, toxic wastelands populated by bitter, disgruntled trolls. They feed on despair and seek to unite us all under their banner of disdain. They spew forth vitriol, hoping to rally the masses to light the torches of hated in their bitter campaign to bring about the end days.

If you're not playing anymore, do us all a favor and STFU! Just......frikkin........go....away.

If people spent money on the game and are pi$$ed at where the game went after they paid/donated to get the game going they have every right to complain all they want.

How about you people who think the gamer is perfect in everyway get better taste and STFU.

I'm here wishing for change, good change, and if change requires the death of something that has dragged on too long without going in the right direction, then it is a good death to be had.

Be careful, someone might think you're proposing game eugenics, and get angry that we might want a game that isn't a trainwreck of broken promises!

But....do they have a right and and a vote for every decision a dev makes?

I think not.

The founders paid to get the game launched and that goal was met,

There were no assurances beyond that.

Not sure what qualifies at a Bittervet, but I've been here since open beta. Spent a fair amount of coin on this game, I know others who've spent far more then I'll ever know. They have a right to gripe whether they stopped playing today or 12 months ago. A lot of them were invested. They believed the dream. I barely believe it now. I've watched this game get dumbed down each passing year it seems. I've watched CW go from hundreds of players (if not more) a night, EVERY night...to a virtual graveyard. And all of it almost seems for naught. Lighter wallets and crushed hopes for what COULD have been an outstanding game is all we've seen. Not sure it can be saved. Uncle Russ thinks we're to damned idiotic to know what we want, when there are hundreds upon hundreds of pages/posts etc. with ideas and suggestions that are usually ignored, not like they have a post page saying "Hey we listened! Here is your suggestion realized!" or something like that. Nope, he wants E-sports. In short they have a right to gripe. They've paid for it...literally. Just like you have a right to counter gripe.

I seriously want to be making tons of jokes right now, but the site that hosts most of my gifs/images has apparently been hit by a DDoS apparently, so I'm locked out of all my grade-A material. RIP.

Communication is the key. The more Devs actually take the time to talk, clarify, and explain things here on the forums, the more positive the forums become. When months pass between player-Dev interaction, people start getting upset.
