I VANISHED!? Invisibility powers go!

I gave a non-committal answer because the other option is to promise something that might not happen....and this thread is a perfect example of where that gets us.

Is it currently scheduled, no.
Has it been nagging me in the back of my mind for 2 months now, yes (just like the secondary missile boxes on the timberwolf).
Did I open the Victor files today to take a look at how I could fix it, and if there were any technical challenges with it? I did, it doesn't look like there, yet.
Am I going to talk to people about it, to see how we can do this sometime soon, yes.
But it's still possible that nothing will happen (except that it will keep bothering both you and me).

You actually stuck around and answered a question in a manner that is helpful and clear. I love you. Please never leave PGI.

I'm guessing you've flown away forever at this point, but if by God's grace you ever see this, I have a serious question of my own that has never been answered. Do you guys have any plans on adding colorblind support to the game? The red doritos and icons on the minimap are really hard to see for a lot of colorblind people, including myself, to the point where on certain maps we can't see the icons period. Even if you never see this, and/or can't give me an answer, I really do thank you for coming onto the forums. It's actually really nice, and gives me hope.

As of now, it's the only MW game in town........yet we post here to wish its death.

It's not the only MW game in town. It's just the newest flavor, so it has the most followers. MW3, MW4, and MWLL are still played online. Never played MWLL, but everyone knows the other 2 games are way better than MWO. People are mainly playing this game for 2 reasons 1) it's the prettiest 2) the comp scene is here.

Leave the worries about how the game is progressing to to those who actually play the game.

You say this like the game is complex. It's not. The combat has barely changed over the years, besides nerfing Mechs into the ground.

If we had 3 or 4 more people making responses like he did, and being as friendly as him? I'd probably not be a pessimistic ninny about this game. Hell, I would probably still be touting the game's praises to friends. I want him to stick around so I can use him as my tether to stay optimistic.

Jokes aside, I poke in here because I want to contribute more than the vitriol makes me want to stay away.
PM me here or in game anytime, I'm happy to share what I can.

Are you 5 years old and the "vitriol" is so offensive to your eyes that its worth neglecting community needs? Buck up and wade through the garbage for the good ideas, this is your player base.

When a PGI employee tells you he disregards the forums and doesn't come here because of the toxicity of the playerbase (YOU), we're supposed to say "Thank you sir, may I have another"?

This is the reason we have communication issues. Despite what's been done before, one of the team stops in and tries to field some questions or let us know they do read the forums, even if the don't comment often, and some just jump all over them in an effort to vent their anger or frustration rather than seeing it for the info source and attempted outreach that it is. And then can you wonder why the team is shying away from interacting with us.

I'm not seeing him disregarding the forums or us. I'm seeing him being helpful. Maybe you should stop blindingly hating him just because he's a PGI employee. He's no Paul or Russ.

I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that I'm advocating for anyone to work for free... I'm pointing out, that often workers who are passionate about what they are working on, will take it upon themselves to do things the normal production schedule might not allow for, or that they've been told can't be done due to time constraints or whatever.

Really, at the end of the day, I'm saying, you can't just lump everyone together under the generic banner of "PGI" so you can bludgeon them with the sins of the past when some of the crew actually try to come here and talk with us. That's delusional if you want to have ANY dialogue with the dev team, especially newer members who ABSOLUTELY have no responsibility for the direction of the company as a whole and what was done well before they got there.

And hey, there's the off chance that you can just take Mark at his word, that he's doing the best he can where he is with the opportunities he's presented with at PGI, because he actually wants MWO to be better than it is today.

We are not actually as far off in our opinions as you seem to think. Passion is great, a willingness to go the extra mile is great, but your original statement in defense of Mark was that people should go work there and create working content during off hours in hopes that it will be used. If someone wants to go above and beyond on their free time that is their choice, but under no circumstances should it be a requirement to get something done. Getting something done at PGI beyond more mech packs seems to be a nearly impossible task no matter who is working there in the trenches. Advocating someone get a job there and do what actually needs to be done in their free time(because it isn't getting done otherwise) is what is absurd.

Mark and whoever else might be fighting tooth and nail to get things fixed/added, but if the people at the top are not interested or capable of getting it fixed/added for whatever reason they may have it is a waste of everyone's time. Mark more than likely is a a stand up guy, but he is a representative of PGI and all that is associated with it. You may have a problem with lumping him in when people are frustrated at PGI but no matter how you or he feels he is a part of PGI and all that goes with that.

I know that Paul is aware of the issue.
However, I know absolutely nothing about plans for that; they tend not to invite me to design meetings for obvious, practical reasons.

People asking me about Jumpets and such should read the above sentence.

Also, I suspect you guys of posting extra anime memes just for me. ^-^

you surely got killed by a nonskilled victor pilot yesterday Posted Image Posted Image
many things can be done with skill but when the same skill drives different mechs D: its gonna be bad for one D:

Kudo's to Mark, at least he responds :P and i like the answers about the victor. quickdraw obviously has the same problem with the center torso launcher but i cant see a fix for that one tbh lol.

Well, the Quickdraw's torso is very similar to the Cyclops, right?
So why not copy-paste the Cyclops weapon geometry onto the Quickdraw Posted Image

Though, if you're planning on helping out. it could also use some re-posing and re-proportioning to look more like its Concept art (because currently, it's REALLY ugly)

P.S. You're an absolute beast in that Victor, though.

To be fair to Smith it can be a little frustrating when some of the few post we receive from someone at PGI is a little on the disrespectful side, or just tone deaf. Choice of wording is important. If the hand that feeds us doesn't want to be bit it probably shouldn't slap us first. Then again it also shouldn't be a surprise that the hand feeding us gets bit when we have been starved for so long.

That being said I think it is great Mark came in and conversed with us despite some of his poor choice in comments. Hopefully we will see more of it from him and others at PGI and it will lead to some people being less angry all the time while others are too quick to defend just because someone said something/anything at all.

Nope, I just have a repository of over 2,000 of them, so I make use of it whenever I have the chance. One of the main reasons I actually post on these forums. I mean, how can you resist posting stuff like this?

Also, thank you for the response. It's seriously refreshing to have someone to talk to that has the yellow name and white text, especially when they're friendly.

that victor is so much brawl that it just heavily relies on the team working well. i cant play well if i cant sneak up or dont get fire support/assist while moving through open land. when do you actually get that? D:

i mean, its propably also easier to not bandaid a cyclops into the quickdraw :D (though the old quickdraw might be just as big as the cyclops is now hahaha) i really like my QKD'S tho, first heavy i had, still loving it.

also, IF alot more people from PGI would communicate like Mark is doing here, this game obvious would be better D:
i love the constructivity here. brings the things forward that are bad for a long time.
