Likely, but at least it will be possible and the hero would offer something unique instead of being a crappier version of the 27.

Ift he Urbie at 35t can do it, to some pretty successfull degree, sure the AA can Posted Image

That one lonely ballistic hardpoint is not especially useful - you can either use it for one MG (useless; MGs start make sense since at least three or four guns) or one AC (Class 5 or Class 2 probably). You can use AC-2 to annoy people, but the fact is that you pay 6 tons for negligible damage output. AC-5 is slightly better, but it weighs 8 tons (and UAC-5 9 tons). There are good reasons why practically nobody uses stock CDA-3M Cicada.

So one solution would be adding one or two energy hardpoints to turn it into jumping Cicada X-5 with ECM. Would it be a power creep? Maybe. But since everyone can buy the Hankyu, Jenner IIC and the Shadow Cat with the Dragonfly for C-Bills, I don't consider it a big problem. After all, this "DarkDeath" would still have to pay for the ECM advantage with the fragile IS XL engine (plus fragile arms probably).

Or maybe add one or two missile hardpoints? Something as ASN-21 with ECM?

Perhaps the X-5 could be quirked to bring it in line but tbh I haven't seen many cicadas, and no X-5s recently.

I'd be worried about making it a straight upgrade to a cbill variant. So idk.

That was just a random idea. But in my opinion a low-end Medium with 2E + 2M (and that one useless 1B) is probably not going to be especially viable, unless you use it as ER Large sniper (or something like that).

Yeah, the Hero and the 27 just look like rip-offs of the worst VND (1X and SIB respectively) variants with ECM added like it makes a huge difference.

The only thing I can think of for the hero is ignoring the ECM and running an LBX10 and 2 SRM4s with an XL 255 whereas the 27 can do 2 PPCs hopefully with quirks for PPCs.
