Should Damage Done Be On The Leader Board?

at the end of the match they showed they where way ahead of the other players in damage done
after traveling around to other factions in CW/FP seemed almost every faction/team had this one guy that was a face wrecking machine
most are recognized from the damage done at the end of match
do you think damage done should be added to the leader board?

But do we really need another e-peen metric to be on the leader board?

What I do care about is that either stats and leaderboards should both be public, or they should both be private. PGI should be consistent on this matter.
Oh, and I want an automatic 100-day ban for anyone guilty of stat-shaming.

Sorry, but I'd rather the dev's did things to make the game play more fun, not pointless additions that won't

If you're gonna be shocked that Lights on average do less damage than anything bigger than themselves, then you should be shocked about the "events on the PTS".... spoooky stories of the unbalanced mind.

Defensive or counter stat shaming should be allowed though (ie: when a poster goes to clown someone else on here for bad play and then their crap leaderboard stats get shamed for all to see).

The problem with the leaderboard is that at best it hints at something and at worst is misleading.
Someone can have both better than 5:1 K/D and W/L numbers, but it's all from the group queue via riding on the coattails of his teammates (e.g. being fed kills).
Someone else can have a 2:1 W/L and an abysmal 0.5 K/D but is actually intentionally trying to get killed early so he can command his team to victory.
MWO Stats and leaderboards as they are now are totally incapable of accurately depicting both circumstances.

So, a player with "respectable" W/L figures who takes command and is followed by the team is not really a "skilled" player because she has abysmal damage numbers while playing 100% in the solo queue?

W/L is important to but damage numbers is more important. Check damage numbers after a match explains a lot. Many times it explains everything. Its like +/- in hockey. Your entire team is + you wont lose a game.

Games are not won that way. Its like Machiavelli, he wrote "The Prince", but it was made for peasants.

No, your example still means that the team with the + is winning. Score doesn't matter.
Team A average scores 3 goals per game
Team B average scores 2 goals per game
Which one is better? Team A right?
Now:
Team A average 4 points per game to be scored against them
Team B average only allows 1 point per game to be scored against them
Team B is the better team, even though they don't score as much. Their differential scoring is also better (-1 for Team A, +1 for team B even though Team A scores twice as much.
NFL Football -
Atlanta Falcons - #1 in points per game @ 33.9 yet there are three other teams with a better record than them. And guess what it takes to get into playoffs...
W/L is the most important stat. As the saying goes, a Win is a Win.

+/- is per player and is way more important than team stats. Way.
A team can have the highest scorer in the league, but its entirely possible he is a - player.
A + player can also be on the most losing team in the league. But anyone interested in winning will want him on their team.
Get all + players and never lose ever.
