The Linebacker's beefier than I would have imagined, eager to see the scale comparison to see how it looks alongside fellow 65'ers like the Ebon Jaguar and Hellbringer.

Love that digital camo skin too.

DOA unless this thing is quirked to hell like the Summoner or Nova. 16.5 tons of pod space isn't enough for any substantial loadouts on a 65 ton mech. 104.4 kph doesn't mean anything if you don't have anything powerful to shoot with. And if you can hit a Stormcrow going 104.4 then you can easily hit a Linebacker. So.....armor/structure quirks, accel/decel/turn rate quirks, weapons quirks, heat quirks, but I'm sure PGI will barely quirk the thing. Alongside with that set of 8 garbage nonsense they insist on doing now that actually punishes you for you know...using an omnimech as an omnimech. Maybe fun but I predict DOA. Moderate performance at best.

More hard points (and fairly high mounts all around), but with just 0.5 tons more pod space than the Shadow Cat and no ECM/MASC/JJs it'll be interesting to see how it plays. Multiple energy hardpoint options will give it some options, but nothing really unique. SCR, HBK-IIC, EBJ and HBR all have a lot more free tonnage to play with.

*shrug* It doesn't ******* away, but then again we don't exactly need any more KDK-3 level meta builds do we? I hope that Mech_con reveals some exciting new modules/skill trees to give mechs a unique role on the field. If some mechs had access to different skill trees than others, it could give mechs with similar tonnage/hardpoint counts vastly different roles in combat.

Edit: lol I didn't expect that phrase to be censored, but I guess it does have that whole other usage as well.

Woth dat big engine it shouldn't need much in the way of accel/deccel/turn... it should naturally be better than other clan 65 tonners that aren't quirked as such. Depending on hit boxes it may be a true brawler with those hardpoints... if you use the speed right to close distances...

Loving the looks of this thing. I'm so glad I preordered :D (because I don't have enough chassis that need levelling already) (that's a lie I have way too many to level already and this really isn't going to help)

Hehe you're probably right. But it might actually need them. No idea. Depends greatly on what other quirks it might have. Looks like it'll have a huge CT. So maybe some buffs there. The arms look kinda thin honestly so maybe nothing there. This might be a mech that greatly depends on the pilot. On it's overall performance that is. I mean that's technically true for any mech but there are many mechs that are just easier to put up better numbers with. I've seen a lot of hate for the Viper but I've done pretty well in it.
