So on NGNG-TV's twitch stream atm. Russ said the next mech (December 2016 aka MECHCON!) will be a mech that is something they have never done before?! So what would be something THEY HAVE NEVER DONE BEFORE with a mech?

Also for Light Pilots, January. He said you get a Light mech...Soooo take that for what its worth!

Quadmechs would be a totally new thing.

However, given Russ' propensity for overstating things, it might be an IS Omnimech.

That would be odd because December should be a Clan mech if they are sticking with the Clan-IS-Clan-IS pattern. If it is an IS omni, hoping for the Sunder.

Could also be the Omega...

If this turns out to be true maybe we can get Wasp, Stinger, and Valkyrie or Flea.

If true, we could perhaps assume the January light is a Clan 'mech, since it'd be 3 IS ones in a row if not...

And likely the return of GodQuirks
Or engine balance...that would be nice.

Single off Chassis', or a 4 pack?
They said they were done, but when introducing new robots, it might be an option.

I was thinking quad/melee, but I know better than that. My gut feeling says it won't be anything too dramatic, but I can't think much new they would be willing to do. IS omni is a good guess, it shouldn't be too hard for them to code one.

Not a Mad Cat MK II, because Battlemechs have been done before. Unless it's the Mad Cat MK II Enhanced that has the armor buff (aka next river of tears op mech)

So it's not the Mad Cat MK II.

I'm really now just going for autographs, no PVE confirmed, no new engine confirmed, and it's going to be about the skill tree...

I just want some pre-oder bonuses, so I'll order it whatever it is.

Ummm it would be special and different in the fact that it would be the first chassis released that is past 3055....Chassis not variant. Russ knows its a big mech, and yes though not as unique and special as something like a Axemen or Scorpion. It would be that JUST special enough for Russ to make it seem like a bit deal (which to me and many it kinda is a big deal).

It could be the Mad Cat Mk II, I wont count my eggs on it just yet. BUT its possible. ANY month now pretty much it will come I bet...But yea IS omni maybe, MAYBE Melee...I doubt Quad's (to much resources for a single chassis) and def not LAMS...

Chin up bud, it will be cool regardless, its more mechp0rn at least!

Ok...I'm going to go all conspiracy theory and put on my tin foil hat for this one.
  • Russ stated it's something they have never done before
  • There is a light mech incoming
  • Joysticks will be required
  • Russ hates quads
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this is going to be a LAM, and in fitting with a light mech, Stinger and/or Wasp, as we still haven't got those unseen yet.

Maybe an aerospace fighter? Probably easier to code.

Never before done pretty much limits it to a quad, or an IS Omni (which means a timeline jump also happens). There are light quads too that might. The ZPH-1A Tarantula is a 25 ton IS quad with a production year of 3054 (we've already jumped to 3053 with the Bushmaster). The Snow Fox was a Clan 20 ton quad first produced in 3015. The Thunder Stallion was a clan Assault quad from the 29th century. Theres also the Xanthos, Goliath and Scorpion I.S. quads that fit the existing timeline. The first I.S. good Omnis (such as the Blackhawk-KU) come along in about 3055 and such a time jump means we might get new weapons soon also. The Raptor was a light IS omni that started production in 3052 though.

The OTHER big thing they've never done is physical attacks... which would be a requirement for Solaris....and that means they'll of course start with the Hatchetman. This of course requires probably putting back the ability to knock mechs down on collisions, which then opens up charges and DFA's as well. Oh and I really wish then they do quads...I wanna see a goliath mulekick one leg back at a locust.

Too fast for the current engine to handle. Remember the Flea

Don't necessarily need a timeline jump, as long as the standard variant has weapons that are in game, they will make up the rest of the variants. This has been confirmed multiple times.

The mech in December will also NOT be a light. The next light will be announced in January.

It could be the Guardian mode of the LAM; imagine a converted G-mode Phx Hawk with new jump jets that are like HBS's Battletech jump jets and would enable it to jump the 2-3x the distance of the Loyalty Cicada...

But given PGI's track record, if this is ever able to be done right...90 days and Soon...Posted Image

If we are going to support conspiracy theories, lets say it could be a Hatchetman and that they will finally implement contact, knockdowns, and melee into the game!

After all this time, PGI still haven't released their name sake, the Piranha.
