Lots of free stuff in a free to play game and some people STILL whine...there's no pleasing them!

The road from optimistic support to where I am is a long long road.... over the years, PGI kept that road very busy!
Lets just leave it at that. I don't wanna open the ancient salt mines.

The only and only part that I like in this "practice in masochism" you call MWO is the mechs and the concept art masterpieces by Alex and the beautiful models.

I too have been around for a couple of years, but rather than getting upset at every attempt PGI is making to improve the game, I try to give feedback in a courteous way, not spew hateful and angry messages about how terrible they are. Have you not noticed how big of an improvement has been made since PGI got rid of its partner and started managing the game on its own? Yes there are a ton of things that still need improving and many requests that need to be addressed, but they have been showing steady improvement and have even provided explanations as to why certain features take longer to implement, i.e. our 3 month dry spell since the round table.

Please, next time before you feel the need to take a giant dump on the message boards, give some thought as to how you will be received and maybe add a little bit of class, or at least remove the lack of class from what you post.

Sometimes, there's even a valid reason to whine. Not often, but sometimes. Hell, if PGI had set it right the first time, then I wouldn't have reached 5 'scroll-fulls' back on the previous page (http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/239930-kerensky-bowl-november-event/page__view__findpost__p__5484005)! There is, sadly, a limit to what's sane in reality. ;)

GI was just fine before the nerf months ago and now I guess it's subpar so there it is... free for everyone as long as yo complete the challenge or course.

BTW there is a glitch with decals and GI like the other HBK with a massive shoulder are prone to this very distracting visual:

I recommend spreading the word for this website:

https://mwomercs.com/clock

UTC-PST-CET and even the in-game time BUT the day on november 18 3051 is definitely not friday. I checked a couple weeks ago if the the days would be aligned as well but it turned out that it was a tuesday while it was a saturday in real life.

ITT: People who don't understand that Grid Iron is an American Football reference, as is the Linebacker...

Also any "challenge" that requires a massive shift in gameplay to make it fun at the expense of overall gameplay is a terrible idea and would net a significantly higher rate of complaints than the few that exist in this thread. I would call this event/theme a success and a step in the right direction.

I have one complaint. Part of the event requires participation 12 out of 14 available days. Thanksgiving might make that hard for some people... like me. Might have to blow the dust off of my 9700m gt 8 year old laptop to try to squeeze a low FPS match in at my parents house.

Otherwise it's a great event.

I wish you had arrived before my oversize post on page 4 (http://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/239930-kerensky-bowl-november-event/page__view__findpost__p__5484005) ... Don't forget to give it a 'Like', as it covers that concern as well! I agree that an Event shouldn't be capable of conflicting with Real Life at this level. MWO is supposed to be fun, not an argument with Reality and/or an annoying grind. :)

Are you sure you're actually playing with other ACTUAL Tier 1s ? Guess you'll have to install some AMS units and carry the radar derp module or actuallly not stand in the open.

Well PGI is a canadian company and Canada already had thanksgiving. You cannot plan events around holidays because its almost always a holiday for something somewhere.

People have lives though. All you have to do is be away from home for 3 days during this span and you miss out on the big prize, even if you played 10 hours a day for the other 11 days. Whether its Thanksgiving, Funeral, wedding, bachelor party, vacation, it doesn't matter.

Tonight. 7PM EST.

lol I thought EST = European Standard Time, but it's not, it's Eastern Standard Time (Eastern America).
Dam so many timezones on the world.
What I need is CET = Central European Time.

CET = UTC +1
so it looks like it starts 19. November 01:00 AM here.
pretty late here.
I miss the times when they started events, so you could play on fridays in europe.

Gotta have something for those of us without a Linebacker to do, like protecting the Linebackers.
That is what the Formation and Defense event are for.

Also on the other side of that, those Light and Medium Mechs could be thought of as little footballs to be kept away from the enemy team.

I'll respond to you two at once.

What I meant by "Linebacker like" for requirements was things a Linebacker can do. In this case, they could have done Savior Kills or components crited or something (just for some random example, not actual specific recommendations).

I want actions that non-linebacker players can also perform, but I want to play my Linebacker for the event for the Linebacker related goals. Not be forced to play between my Linebacker and some other medium or light mech to get one event challenge for what is the "ultimate prize". This just forces those of us working towards the Leader Boards for the Linebacker or the Linebacker challenge of 35 Ks or KMDDs to have to play away from that.

@ D V Devnull
I also agree with high pressure events being a bad thing. I'm wondering if I'll be able to get even half the completionist requirements done. And when I saw I could only miss 2 days of the event... Yeah. I wasn't impressed either. However, it is thankfully only a match score of 100 per day, which thankfully is easy to do. I'm going to make sure I get that at least, even if I stay up a little later than I should. But those who have to travel and may not have a Laptop (I have a desktop, but thankfully I don't travel on Thanksgiving)... I feel sorry for them. Hopefully no storms knock out people's internet either...

I'm with you that if the event is a 14 day event, 7-10 days of a daily achievement is probably more opportune for everyone. If they wanted 12 days, than the even should run for 20-24 days (around twice the required), I know last event I got ousted right off the bat because I didn't know it had started, and already missed two days of it... And then I didn't know (because it didn't say) that I could earn prizes per day completed and that the total was not if I got all the needed days only but was the max I could earn...

I understand you're just a troll but would you like to explain how I can fit AMS or ECM to my Linebackers as I already have Radar Dep?

Heres a hint ... only 1 of 6 variants can fit AMS.

If you want we can then get into a discussion on how ineffective that single AMS on that single variant would be against the LRM 60+ boats the games were populated with today.

Edit: It depends if you call the EmP etc players in my games today tier 1 ... but personally I do and try to primary them off. Though in fairness none of them were using LRM's though we did have a complaining gold dire wolf who had lrms too.... ;)

Once my graphics card went down and evga won't cross ship the replacement... had to do a week long event using only lrms at 7fps, it was brutal but it can be done.
