They need to start prosecuting these hack makers and possibly users until it stops. It's one thing to make them for single player stuff that has always been made. Which can be fun or even add to a game. But when you get to online play and peoples time and money is being affected there is no excuse for this.

They do go after these folks, at least the blatant obvious ones. This is one reason you see less of these folks at higher tiers.

Another reason is many more folks at higher tiers have better computers and more stable connections.

For all we know is there is one company with 1000s of employees in a "developing country" warehouse selling the "hacks" to the players and the "hack police" software to the game developers. If they are really smart they create another company that helps the developers smoke out the "scammers". Put on the tinfoil and think about it.

I haven't see too many suspicious things over the years. However, today my Shadow Cat was caught by a Summoner...despite I used MASC as much as possible. That raised an eyebrow...

As has been noted in this thread and another active thread about more recent teleporting and lag related issues, it's been cropping up more since the last patch. I've been regularly seeing more warping and the like. Tho an indicator to me that what I'm seeing is not hacks, is that the models aren't travelling faster than I should expect them to, I'm just not seeing the completed path visually and I will occasionally register shots where the target isn't visible during movement , and miss shots where the target is clearly in my sights.

My guess is that something is slightly out of sync with the back end since the patch.

Well, it's just the server not being able to decide whether the Spider got legged before or after it left the ground. So this happened:

I've experienced it before. While there is a possibility of hacks, it's most likely just rubber banding. Usually happens when their service provider is losing packets sent and received from the client. It made mwo nearly unplayable for me for 3 to4 days til my ISP fixed it

Because if hes facing hackers he doesn't need the third degree from a stranger. Not to mention this game does have those problems like every other game.

If a player thinks someone is hacking, they almost most certainly are.

Last of all lag can make things look like hacks that are not, but if a player sees someone hacking its not hard to tell.

Topkek. That reminds me of the last match we played together.

You know, the one in which you accused the enemy AC of botting and using a lagshield? When it was 100% obvious i was just missing my shots on him, and he wasn't using any kind of hacks whatsoever.

This game would probably run out of players if anyone at PGI took your countless false reports seriously.

Please, a whole video not gif. I see thing like that occasionally, though not nearly as extreme as that.. I think it's either my or the target's lag.

I don't know, but I suppose lag can be artificially created as well, which may in some games give benefit.

in before the green goons show up and lock the thread for discussing exploits. Whether or not it was actually an exploit.

Is that the one where the guy was a giant red CT only and it kept being shot and wouldn't go down. Was quite a funny match actually. 2 v 2 at the very end and only 1 on our side had any weapons. The guy on our side kept shooting the giant ct that had been running around all match and he wouldn't go down. Our guy used single medium laser to see how many he could take lol. Someone on our team got mad about it because it looked so bad. Funniest match I seen in a while.

Maybe the funniest match I ever seen was when a disarmed STK was chasing a oblivious Arctic Cheddar that was half afk and eventually they got to a also oblivious Dire Whale. So I yell at the disarmed STk to "impregnate the Dire Whale", and the final picture of the match was the Dire Wolf turning around and shooting the Stalker who had rammed it from behind and the Arctic Cheddar looking up tiny in between them. Its 100% true and as far as I know it wasn't a set up. Completely off topic but a very funny match.

But you don't need the whole video. That gif shows everything that you need to understand what caused that particular teleporting incident.

I see a lot of Locust's doing this crap. I assume its just server lag and the system not knowing where they are. This is yet another compliant I have against light mechs because I've never see this occur with heavier mechs unless the ping(theirs or mine) was 400+.

I was having ping problems for several months

like 2 and 3K ping
match would start with 180 ping then spike all over the place

I would be moving up with the group of mechs then all of a sudden I am back at the starting point
none of my ping/lag/packet loss problems helped me

instead I would get killed by unknown mechs

The netcode isn't great either, but network jitter causes quite a bit of randomness as well.

That is on the level of things that would likely be server lag. What I am talking about is where you get around the guys back and the next thing you know he is on your other side in a split second. 300 meters to your front left. then 300 meters to you right rear shooting you in your backside. Even with large assault mechs.

And I haven't gotten any examples of it recording. I'm trying too but I haven't run into anything since I started recording.

If/when it happens I usually pressure them on the rear and it startles them enough it makes the ones with the hack use it all of a sudden. They are usually about to be back gutted or face it because of a pincer. Or a last man standing thing with a light on an occasion. I've just been getting it recently in mass... Maybe it died down.

I have ran across a few things that seem very much like hacks but I have no proof. Example LRMs ONLY hitting the CT, headshots from across the map on several of your teammates back-to-back, mechs that don't take as much damage as they should if at all. I guess you could put this all down to random luck or hit registration but sometimes it seems so over the top that it makes me wonder.
