Right now there are 39 players on THUNE. that is before I started in the empty que of 0. nobody wants to play?

save the small talk, all i care about at this point is playing those sweet fw matches, if you want some today come get it. I am clan wolf by the way and we are dropping against the space vikings. You looking for matches, well you got some. Clan wolf and space vikings lets get it.

We'd like to play, but the mode is BAD.... Too many choke points, poorly thought out base design, no real objectives and to top it off poor rewards for the amount of time it takes.

I mean, not really. 'People don't want to play Faction Warfare' is a generalization, widely true but obviously not all encompassing.

Wait 10 minutes for match. Stand around for half an hour in a circle jerk while enemies march through a choke point at you in nice organized line (or in alternative, march in line through choke point at circle jerk of enemies). After more than 45 minutes from first queue to match end, get results screen that shows a fraction of the rewards you'd have received if you had been playing the same amount of time in QP.

Erm... no thanks.

I get some people don't want to. thats fine, but if they do, just jump in the que. nothing sweeter than a teeth clenching match.

points is started the que with 0, it was just me and it jumped a bit.

depends on what your faction is. me with my poorly thought out liao contract, nothing. if i was steiner or jade falcon, id probibly see people in queue. this is kind of the thing the destruction of buckets will accomplish, make it possible for everyone to fight everyone.

of course then you get the tukkayid effect where one side drops fast and the other side has to wait 10 minutes. and this is why i argue for fewer buckets, but more than 2. i think 4 is a good number, you can have is vs is fights, clan vs clan fights, and of course clan vs is and vice versa. everyone can fight everyone and there are no dead zones where two teams cannot fight eachother. if one faction has an absurd number of players, the other 3 factions are encouraged to attack that faction, and they are diminished through too many fronts. throw in free trade down (you may switch to a faction with lower population for free, instantly, and without penalty) and then they will self balance.

And nothing more bitter than losing the match in the first wave and then spending 20 minutes getting blown apart without being able to fight back.

Well it's not dead technically
But wow
Overwatch is played by 20 million (though there was this free weekend last weekend)
Don't think we should call player numbers that don't even have 3 digits doing OK

FW was a novel concept, but yeah, terribly executed ultimately. The choke points, ala BF212 Camp Gibraltar, game after game, yeah, its stupid.

If they opened up the maps and made actual mission objectives and stuff, itd be cool.

Isn't there some bug (or intentionally) that you can't see the others waiting in the que these days?

CW? No thanks. Played enough to know that it is not an enjoyable experience any longer. But hey, PGI will certainly save CW with their 4th big rework, right?

I used to love FW.
Just kinda get tired of fighting op clan mechs.
ED might have leveled the playing field somewhat.
But PGI wimped out on that.
We tried to get some IS on IS action going.
But no ones seem to being playing IS mechs.
Just my personal feeling.
So meh.

Sure, if they went and made Faction warfare basically Planetside 2 with only BFRs.....

Make FW into several different very large maps and players can come and go as they please ala Planetside 2 style. Where planetary control literally goes to one faction or another, as like 2-3 different factions war over the same planet. Maybe it would require alot of servers to power all the different battles going at once, but still, it would be very fun. Star Ports, cities, trainyards, mech factories, all laid out in a truly "im on a world" feel.
