1. Click here for [Profile] in MWO:
https://mwomercs.com/profile

You can slice+dice the mechs, sorting them to your heart's content!

[Hero / Special / Champion / Standard_Variants]>>[All]

IS / Clan

Light / Medium / Heavy / Assault

Do have fun with this data sorting!
(I myself like to do this sort of thingy too!)

2. For the total number of mech chassis, this below website is slightly stronger (still need to manually count this though):
https://mwo.nav-alpha.com/mechs

Not only is this one of the oldest Necros that I can recall, but it is certainly the most pointless. Well done.

My bad... did not notice that's a necro thread!! Posted Image

On the bright side, the vast majority of players replying in this 2016 thread are still logging into MWO, playing MWO Posted Image

Oh, come on! Posted Image

At least he posted a screenshot that he created himself, showing us his customized 'Mech.

Still better than some other players who necro old threads just to tell the world "Me too" or "I agree".

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for "pointless" in my necros. Its far more entertaining than a lights OP necro, a Lrms suck necro. Reopening a six year old thread just to post a picture of a mech...that's gold, comparatively speaking.

Playing yesterday with my cousin and a few other friends, the question came up "How many mechs do you have total?" knowing that my cousin has been playing since day one and supports the game frequently through mech packs. My cousin said he has about 195 mechs. Another player we met that day said he has 207 mechs total.
Your cousin must have sold off a shitload of mechs. I have only started regularly buying stuff circa 2017 and have over 500 mechs by now.

This makes me wonder: How many mechs are there currently in MWO?
640 -> https://mwomercs.com/profile filter to "Standard" and "Hero".
This is over... 109? or so different chassis.

How many Inner Sphere?
378

How many Clan?
262

How many Hero?
124

How many Champion?
63, but keep in mind they all have a Standard version.

Special variants, cannot be bought?

https://www.reddit.c...om_the/iqzu8s7/
+ the (L) variants technically, since they can be obtained from the Loyalty Program but cannot be bought through normal means.
All of them, however, have a Standard version.

Proposed mechs for the future of the game, mechs that exist in the Battletech universe but have not been added yet?
Hahaha, you've gotta be kidding. Posted Image
There's a metric ton of those even without any timeline advancement.

Nope you just didn't filter correctly, Champions and (S)(P)(G)(I)(F)(ETC.) are special/champion version of standard mechs and identical to those except they just might have different skin and got CB or XP bonus.

It really depends on your definition of what is a different variant.
OP clearly counted differences between Standard Variant, Champion, Special Variant (some of which can no longer be bought).

For example, Battlemaster BLR-1G counted as three (3) mech variants:
BLR-1G ==> Standard Variant
BLR-1G(P) ==> Phoenix Variant (it is not a Platinum Collection mech!!)
BLR-1G(S) ==> Special Variant (only available Dec'2020 to Feb'2021)

That's also how I could count the mechs, same as OP's way of counting too...

Same mechs with different paintjob (and Phoenix / Founders bit different geometry).
Different hardpoints = different mech IMO.
If BRL-1G has some quirks I bet Phoenix and Special variants have same quirks... same mech.

That's because you are including all Special and Champion versions, which functionally are duplicates of existing Standard variants...

Mechanically they're the same chassis as far as builds and gameplay are concerned, with two premium versions.
