Isnt the Viggen trailer by Leatherneck the hottest thing you ever saw? I need to learn to fly still but i refuse to buy the dcs modules outside of steam and that seriously hamper my enthusiasms.

The trailer is probably the best one to-date, but the over-hype for it kind of left me not caring as much. I want to see more in-game footage and tutorials to showcase the systems. I'll worry about all the flashy videos when I'm the one making them :P

I still like the F5 trailer better, but mostly because it's the F5 - much sexier.

I will absolutely lose my mind when the F-14 comes out. The announcement of work on that got me into DCS last year.
In the meantime, I am starting to learn P3D and have just crashed my first FA-18 into the carrier.

You should jump on DCS and fly with me sometime. Blue Flag is up now and a heck of a good time. There's even a dude there who I found out flies with keyboard and mouse, and still has more successful sorties than I do!

You know nothing Dino Might! But seriously, i always had a crush on the country who dared do things differently and fend off both sides rather than join one. A plane designed to take off from any highway hidden in a forest? sign me in, its also the only aircraft to get a lock on a SR71. I always thought the Viggen, had the same sexyness that Hog has; at first you're shocked, "wow the body is fat and those wings goes for days" and then you see the beauty in it.

I admit when i saw the antiship missile RB04 i peed myself a little, and that ground radar? omg. Youll understand when you see the aim54 i guess.

Same, when i learned accidentally about the Tomcat i got interested in DCS again. I had dabbled with LOCKON and the first iteration of flaming cliff but now you have to buy everything so i kept with the su25T. I got the f15 and a10A for practice and get myself in but never really did because i know the Viggen is over a year out of Steam and the F14 wont be out till 2018 probably and later on steam. They do things so slowly it's maddening, but at least they deliver a piece of art as well as a study.

Id love to and i would also love to be able to lol. Last time i tried i crashed twice while TAKINGOFF. Though, one time is because my headtracking reset cut the left engine while in after burner on the strip and the right (The little engine that could) made the plane do a 90degree LOL.

Then i spawn in the air because im not stupid, wow i go at mach 1.5 already? why is the plane so shacky? must be the Gs or something, i stall, well fk that wasnt mach 1.5, i dunno what that was but i crashed. again. lol.

I will probably be flying DCS quite a bit this next week. You can find me on the na1.mech-connect.net TS in the Comstar Irregulars channel. Just shoot me a message and we'll get a good training flight set up. I can run you through most of the SU-25T systems and problems. It definitely can't do high speed without shaking itself apart. It's the Russian version of the A-10. It's a beast for SEAD strikes. The A-10C is still my favorite ground pounder.

As for crashing on takeoff, I definitely don't do that anymore... /sarcasm
Recently they finally modeled the overspeed on tires and I have been popping them left and right on long takeoff rolls. Actually have to use flaps and rotate at the right time now.

I highly recommend getting the standalone version of DCS. Steam modules take forever to come out and the pricing isn't necessarily beneficial. They've started matching the standalone version, so there's really not much reason to run Steam version anymore.
