Considering that PGI keeps track of all your accumulated xp points since your started playing (total of used and unused), it would be simple for them to convert the whole exp amount you accrued into Legacy XP. It would stupid not to.

That being said, have any of the posters in here considered the possibilities (some posting here have) of what could happen if PGI gets MW5 up and running with the Unreal 4 engine? They might revamp MWO into a UE4 version, whether MWO original or an MWO2!
All I ask PGI is that: as a thank you to us who did sustain you during the development of these other games, could we get some type of bonus or carryover in the new game(s):
Something like being able to bring over / synchronize our mech stables between games, especially if you intend on using MWO as the "online component" of MW5?
What about a C-Bill or mech bonus for those of us who spent real money on the game, or maybe lifetime discounts / bonuses on expansions / DLC / new mechs? How about a price reduction in the MW5 base game?
Also, regardless of other factors, since this is being made in the UE4 engine, PLEASE support mods along with map creation and additional content! MW4 went WELL beyond what it originally was conceived because of an active modding / map making community - not all were good, but there were some gems! You've added some interesting vanity items to the MWO game (warhorns are awesome, especially the Pumpkin warhorn!) and I hope you would consider keeping them in MW5, but I would love to have a custom warhorn sound as well!
Anyways, just my thoughts. Can anyone contribute anything else constructive to this thread?

Edit* quite concerned about the thousands of mech xp I have which I have accumulated over several mechs I've had for years and are well beyond mastered so have an excess of unspent mech xp in the tens of thousands. If that gets wasted I am going to be a literal Mad Kat.

Seriously, though. I haven't played since open beta drew closed, until recently. I'm very impressed with the changes, though I'm still lost on most maps that I'm re-learning. Thanks for y'all's hard work.

What concerns me even more is that this is likely to drive most people (especially the casual players) to get mechs with fewer weapon types (i.e. All lasers or all misses or something like that). If I have to spec out multiple weapon trees to make a single mech effective, that's going to significantly increase the grind time to make the mech effective. Not a fan.

Modules go away and you get a refund. Your previously unspent Xp will be usable to spec out the new skill trees.

With the Golden Rule of 3's gone, why would anyone buy the Mastery Packs anymore? I'm sure there are several variants that don't have right hardpoints in the right locations (high) to be blessed by the Meta and will likely be rarely used. At least the quirks gave some of them a useful specialization to make some of them fun.

The good news is, mechs like the Warhammer IIC which have very few variants, most of which have future tech. PGI doesn't have to create (P) Piranha variants to fill in the blanks.

Someone did say they (PGI) confirmed that not ALL quirks are going away... Not sure what that means though..
