Regarding the VR so many talk about: CCP (EVE Online, Valkyrie) closes its VR development (you need to google-translate the article).
Valkyrie was initialy released as VR-only and recently they rolled out non VR release so I presume it wasn't all that successful.

I agree, but instead of very unlikely, I'm going to say a firm that it won't happen at all.

Most MechWarrior titles have been on PC, mainly due to the fact that there are a lot of different inputs, etc, and while you can play on a controller for our current MW game, that itself needs major tweaking for being able to change fire groups, commanding your lancemates, and various other things.

Not really all that surprising considering the niche market within a small pool of players who even have VR. CCP reminds me a lot of PGI. They create things with tons and tons of potential but always seem to make odd choices and silly commitments they cant keep.
They once made a FPS game with fitting elements similar to the mechbay in MWO, it had a lot of potential but the execution went from mediocre to poor and they thought it would be a good idea to stick it on an already aging PS3.

What are you talking about? I didn't hear anything bad about MW5. There is scarcely any information, in fact.

I know that last year there was lots of talk of a 4-player co-op mode in MW:5. I don't know if that's changed.

Honestly I could build a mech that would play well on a controller but it would use ATM or Streaks or LRMs and some lasers. But those are lock on weapons. Mouse will always aim better for this type of game. Controllers beat mouse and keyboard when games are third person action games were a analog stick beat WASD.

Not a programmer no idea how hard it would be to port mechwarrior online to unreal Not sure if they could just lift weapons numbers from cry engine to unreal. Right now Mechs online is pretty balanced with a lot of build options. The work on mech models is done not sure how hard porting that over is.

You can only port objects to new engine ...all other must new build, programmed and scripted.today pgi say clear no really mp for mw5 planned and no elements in it for support mods with mp .

That's what I was thinking. There most likely going have re balance all the weapon's. But they should have pretty good idea now how too do that now.
