Honestly i'd have asked if certain weight groups have too many mechs.

We seem to be drowning in 65 toners heavies.

I think we need more diversity in the weight groups.

I bet he thinks of slowing down the pace on mechs and have the mech-making people do also something else they can monetize (he said he plans to have the game being funded in larger precentage by not-new-mech-related income).
Custom geometry comes to mind. Custom pilot models too.

Yeah I'd love to see more lights around.

Evidently Bombadil hopped on Gimpy21's stream earlier on twitch and said there should be a Town Hall on Friday after the patch.

When is the update?

No one says when anything is going to happen around here or where like where is the MW5 sale page.

Well next tuesday is the patch and they said they wanted to do a big infodump on the skill tree but it would probably be after the patch.

The only answers I can think of are... bad.

Oh I dunno. It couldn't possibly be that they're constantly slammed by the community whenever they release a new mech. It's not some evil agenda. They're just directly asking the community if they want more mechs. They know the majority of people want more mechs.

That's nice.

Maybe he can make another poll and ask us if we like our FP medium rare or well done.

This is a typically worded question that's designed to get the response that the poster expects. Of course the majority is going to say "MOAR MECHS" in answer to that question.

What do you think the YES/NO split would have been to the question if it was worded thusly?:

"Would you prefer more content production over Mech production?"

But that isn't what he was asking. In fact he said that the question was unrelated to adding more features (the tern Russ uses for non mech content) in a follow up tweet.

I think he was fishing to look in to non-mech revenue streams, and was emphatically told "no sell us more mechpacks".

I mostly disagree with that. When a mech has enough different variant then we should get it. If some people can only play the most meta mech, its their problem. The xp system should get to a middle ground between the tryhards and those who like to play a lot of mech.More variant right now(when different hardpoints/loadout are available) is better for me than more chassis.

i simply ment that intsetead of 500 mechs, and only 80 or whatever amount chassis, id rather have 500 chassis with only one variant each, but were too far down the variant road to do that. its more wishful thinking.

I will say no, we do not have enough mechs for several reasons.
There are still plenty that would be nice to see in the game purely from a point of 'lets include everything'.
The updated mech designs are always nice to behold and it would brilliant to have these become the standard art back in the table top as well as in the other products. A much deserved 'well done' to the artists and modelers involved.
The creation of these new mechs doesn't impact the development in other areas. The people involved are there for this reason, not for coding new features, changing the UI or creating new levels.

I would not mind that. I want to pretty up my current mechs rather than get new ones.

So with enough NO's in a little while when the money stops coming in and they move on to MW5 completely Russ can say...

"Its what you guys wanted, you say i never listen and this time i did!"

I voted no and specifically mentioned that there need to be more mechs than one a month and they need to come at a shorter delay after the pre-order period.

Well, 2/3 of the community who use Twitter and responded to the poll anyway.

I wonder how many voted hoping to get the one mech they want, or hoping that more mechs would be available for a game other than MWO?

Basically, more info is needed. If mech releases are slowed down where are the personnel who usually work on the mechs be working on, or would they be working?....

What I think is that the question is worded badly.
I'd say slowing down on mech releases would be perfect (one every 2-3 months).
Take that time to tend to other aspects of the game.

That really isn't a yes/no question. Way too many factors to consider, and questions that would need to be answered before I would consider saying yes or no. My gut instinct is no we do not have enough, but what does it mean for the game if yes or no are true? If new mechs are not a focus for future revenue what will be, and is it going to be something I want? Does yes mean no more mechs at all, or just slower production of new ones? If it is slower production of new ones are we going to get highly requested mechs, new tech, or more home brew mechs? If as he says the mech team has no impact on other development what will the mech team be doing if we "have enough mechs"? The list goes on and on, and I am having a really hard time understanding why the question was asked.

The Roughneck would seem to suggest PGI is running out of mech ideas.

If there aren't a lot of options in terms of functionality or builds.

It might be time to shoot for sentimental value.

No! We need more mechs. These mechs can be reused for other battletech games.

I think Russ made it pretty clear that mechs are content and not features!

It would be good to have more mechs with distinct differences that's for certain.

Please bring the Firemoth, Fire Falcon, Black Lanner, Cougar and Turkina.
