Hey, it worked for me back in MPBT days. I ran all Riflemen all the time by the end of my tenure in that game. I was ate up with the Rifleman sickness-I even used to write RFL tactics articles for the DCMS message boards on GEnie! It was the best mech ever for hot world drops as long as you stayed off the lasers and that's true in MWO, everything I used to do in an AC10 3N Rifleman back in the day is viable here. Its main weaknesses are as they always have been forever and a day-too slow, too fragile, and can't really carry enough ammo with a standard engine. PGI really nailed the classic Rifleman feel I remember so well from back in the day. But with an XL the 3N is a deathtrap if you're working up close and personal like I like to work. The 3C is better for that game by far. It's the only thing Hanse Davion ever did that I LIKE.

But i still believe its better for people to voice their concerns now giving the developer food for thought and perhaps addressing these concerns rather than saying nothing, the developer going ahead and then finding out that these people just left because they didnt like the changes or they were just bad changes.
Would it of been beter if people didnt complain/comment on the Long Tom and just left without saying a word? would that of been good for FW?.

When the system drops it's a free initial respec. Subsequent follow-up respects will cost MC. If that closes your wallet then *opinions shielded from view* .

Depending on the paywall, the weekly PGI events probably award more than enough MC to do respecs. Also assuming that we get to keep all our current mech XP, many people have hundreds of thousands of mech XP sitting on their mechs, and if Russ is correct that the grind is the same as now (~67K xp) that's many many C-Bill respecs where burning banked XP means nothing.

We do get all XP refunded.

Nah, the last couple of days has admittedly been more fun, if as always a waste of time.
Thanks for posting this Barantor.
Imagine all the salt and angst that could be avoided if forumites did not immediately jump to the worst possible conclusion every time a change is proposed without waiting for some actual facts.

You can respec for free and lose node points, just have to relevel. If you don't want to relevel those node points then you have to pay some MC.
This is how F2P works in a lot of other games and actually some games don't even let you do that much without paying.

I highly suggest u check on PoE, my other main game which i spent over 500$ on.
best f2p there is realy. Nothing is remotely close p2w or anything around it.
Edit: I forgot to add we get a free expansion every year, and new leagues every 3 months. New content. Devs actually post on reddit and forums.
Yes maybe im spoiled by great devs.
But atm i lost my hope in this game yet i love it. Oh well.
This game just shat itself down. with p2respec

They said we get all all spent XP refunded to GXP, they didn't mention existing XP that's sitting on our mechs unused (though it wouldn't make sense for them to reset all mech XP to 0)

Honestly, it'd make a lot more sense if instead of losing all node points, like it sounds to me, you lost maybe... 75% of your current node points instead. I never thought I'd say this, but I think they should look at the 'gags a bit' World of Tanks crew system for the payment model on respecs. You can technically respec for no ingame currency, but you're knocked down to 50% of what you had before. You can spend ingame cash on it, 75%. Pay premium currency, 100% back. Because if it does remove all nodes when you respec with C-Bills, the grind is going to be real for anyone that doesn't look at other player setups for skills.

I've played PoE, it was neat but the skill tree for it was the highlight IMO, the rest was just like diablo or any other game of that sort.
Respec is still free in MWO, you just lose the node you didn't want. Since they are saying it will take the same time to level you could even do a different spec for the same mech if you buy one. Like if I had two JR7-D's I could have one rigged out with SPL skills and the other with Medium Laser build. Maybe the SPL build has space for some of those jumpjet upgrades they showed.
I think it's fair from what they said so far.

Why would they confiscate unused XP?!
Sounds like you're looking for a failing in the proposal...

This is another situation where Twitter fails us, but by "same time to level", do they mean for each mech, or leveling one mech, grinding out the c-bills for another one, buying it, leveling it, grinding out c-bills for a third mech, then leveling it as well? But that's one part of it we'll probably just have to wait for the PTS to guess on. (Hopefully this time they won't have an event run on the live server at the same time as the PTS being up)

I guess we've to wait and see. Atm i'll remain sort of P'sd off though.
If the grind becomes worse than it already is i'm done.
Also i do love big skill trees, as u might noticed* due i love PoE. But current info we've is horrible.
I don't wanna be a doomsayer cuz i'm not. But this change truly makes me want to look the other way around. At first glance.
We need a good indept info and we'll go from there. However as is, i've lost interest in the game if it'll go down this path.
Not that i dislike the game, just the path to p2w/pay2respec way.
Edit2:
*Skill tree i'm used with for reference.
