Really, if LRMs are a problem for you, maybe you should reconsider your approaches. Are you covered? Where can the enemy see you from? Do you have a way to break locks? Or are you wandering out into the open all the time and just assuming the LRMs are not going to hit you even though you (should) know better?

Tired of hearing people scream on comms about LRMs being OP when I watch them run around out in the open or through the death valleys of a map.

Could be worse. I've seen people complain about LRM hackers that are shooting them through cover.

When the cover only comes up to about mid-chest of their mech.

And the LRMs are coming from the side opposite of the cover.

Pgi needs to turn lrms into a skill based weapon and buff the heck out of them.

Meh, whatever.

At Tier 1, my C-bill printing machine for my IS account is still my AWS-8R with 4xLRM15+Artemis. You guys can talk about how useless LRMs are until cows come home to a frozen hell riding flying pigs. Doesn't change the fact that I'm wrecking face with my LRM boat. Not only damage done, not only KDR, but also WLR.

Yeah, that Blackjack made poor tactical decision. But you know we're all playing in the same little pond, I encounter all of you pretty regularly, and I'm still making bank with my LRM boat when I need some C-bills or if there's some kind of grind-based weekend challenge I need to complete.

I'm not saying that LRMs are good against elite players or coordinated groups. But any pug at any tier is liable to get smashed by LRMs. I see it all the time. If they weren't so effective, pugs wouldn't constantly bring them to every match. It's not like there's 4-6 players in every match failing miserably at LRMs and scratching their head about why they're never winning the game.

So, a thread complaining about people complaining about LRMs. Well done.

Seriously, does one really have nothing better to do?

One of my favorite .gifs.

IIRC, back then I used to run the BJ-1X frequently, and UBERSHOOTZ and I would somehow always be on opposite teams, in the same 'Mech.

Not really. Just twiddling my thumbs, waiting for people to come over for Christmas Eve dinner.

Do you have anything better to do then make a comment complaining about a thread complaining about people who complain about LRMs? Should we all complain about the this comment, which is complaining about a comment complaining about a thread complaining about people who complain about LRMs? How far deep into this spiral do we get before my guests arrive?

still waiting for someone to show how that actually "works", especially while staying distinctly different from other weapon types.

But then, usually when I see people refer to "skill" in video game, they seem to only comprehend twitch reflexes, and little else.

I'm never getting over the time a person on my team accused the enemy of using an aimbot. Specifically, aimbot LRMs. He wasn't joking. The stupidity hurts.

Cover is for Tryhards. Real BattletechWarriors fight in the open with an AC/5, a SRM4, A LRM5, 2ML and a SL.

This game doesn't have forest tiles. What is the cover you are talking about?

LRMs automatically hit the target you're locked onto without you having to aim them yourself. They have a lot in common with aimbotting. And when you get rekt by them, it feels cheap, because you know they decided to use the easiest weapon in the game, leech off of friendly locks, and that you'd smash their skulls in if they took anything else and actually had to aim for themselves.

Skill in this case would require something other than locking and firing.

I would like to see locking and firing removed. Give us two options to fire them, one just normal dry fire like we have now with a much lower arch and two with use of the tag laser. Have the lrms follow the tag laser. This would allow for some very skilled moves . You could shoot over hills, even slight around corners if you're good enough.

They would need a dmg buff to maybe srm levels and speed increased.

LRMs are a skill based weapons fools.

And the skill is in your brains not your reflexes/muscle memory.

The easiest weapon in the game is easily a laser. Point and click, No lead required. No projectile drop. It takes zero skill to use a laser, it just takes quick reflexes and a steady hand to keep the pointer on the target. Any 4 year old can do that.

Now Lurms... you need spacial awareness. Insight into your enemy's movements. A ballistics calculator hardwired into your brain, so you can judge the path of the missiles, and the flight time required to get a hit.

Go ahead and keep thinking "you just fire on other peoples locks" as you score 200 damage a match with your 1000 lurms. I has skills, and I'll do 1200 damage with less than 6 tons of ammo Beaches!~
