There are a lot of interesting usernames out there... if you feel like talking about yours in the general Mechwarrior audience, this might be a good venue! What inspired you to claim whatever 'name tag' you have? (some will be obvious, but the curiousity exists, regardless...)

Mine was me trying to think up a good name for a wizard way back when I made my first email account to play a F2P Korean MMO. Not much to it besides that. Well, there is the alternate version of this name. "Restovski Zhirov". That's from my days flying as a Coalition bomber/capital ship pilot in Freelancer. Those were good days.

Always have played for House Steiner. One of my favorite science fiction character growing up was:

seemed like common sense that the two would go together like peas and carrots.....

And so for some 25 years, I have been Bishop Steiner, Noble of House Steiner, Davionist...and according to Burke's Peerage, 112th in line for the Throne on Tharkad!

I'm also that guy in a Hunchback behind you, that just removed your kidney. Because that's a lot more fun than politics and family drama.

It really irks me that the gif there is flipped from the actual movie scene. It's really messing with me.

Also, Burke can go jump into a reactor core.

I thought up the first random sound that came to mind. This name stuck since the Red Alert 3 beta...

Say my name out loud and it sounds like something different. :D

My son gave me my 'call name" many years ago. we used to play a board game called 'wooden ships and iron men' and I would take corvettes and play pirates in many a dyo scenario

I have always liked Viktor as a relatively normal name. Drake I just picked as I scanned through the list of Bloodnames available for the Clans. Drake originally was an obscure Bloodname used by the Jade Falcons but someone apparently edited Sarna and now it is/was used by the Ice Hellions. I picked an obscure, non-exclusive bloodname so I could align with any clan from a roleplay aspect.

Also Viktor Drake is a pretty good Davion name as well so easy to roleplay IS as well.

Also I chose my name back when the game was in closed beta and at that time was hoping for a bit more of a roleplay aspect to the game. If I knew then what I knew now, I would have went for something cool like Evil Gremlin or something hehe.

I am Terciel. :)

Seriously, though, it's the given name of the character first known as Abhorsen in Garth Nix's Old Kingdom series. Only mentioned a couple times. Pleasantly obscure reference to books I love and I like the way it sounds. It also amuses me to no end that as verbose a guy as I am my teammates call me "terse."

$100, 100M CB or 25,000MC for the head of the guy who has the proper spelling and doesn't play (mine ends in a capital "i."

El Bandito sounds cool. Been using it since year 2000. Besides, the name suits my own brand of devious plays where the enemy would end up dying with utter frustration. ;)

I dunno man, I wouldn't call sitting in the middle of your team with a Battlemaster a devious play. :P

My name came from my Star Wars dueling names, Battlemaster/Darth Malice main instructor of young Sith Acolytes in the ways of lightsaber combat. Missed having thoses intense duels when I challenge my friends in a 1v3 scenario and barely coming out as victor.

Also I took because I personally love the design of the Battlemasters, in game and original art source.

It's a jumble of letters stolen from my first and middle names. I'd been using it for a handful of years when someone pointed out it was an anagram for feces... Wasn't pleased by that, but I'd been known in that community by that name for a while and wasn't about to dump my name over it. And at this point I've been going by Escef in various online communities for over a decade.

Callsign-YukiMizuki is my standard online name, but since we can't have "-" in our pilot names, I went with my secondary; Shiroi Tsuki.
Idk, I was in the peak of my weeaboo days when I started having a standard online name, and I really just found moons and snow really, REALLY romantic,

Mine originated from an old open discussion about changing our guild name in a MMO i played. One of our leaders often complained the dps players were a bunch of drooling monkeys which prompted my suggestion for the guild name to be Droolcup Commandos.

As far as MWO is concerned, i figured it would accurately depict my level of play when i first started playing and i sometimes get chuckles and odd conversations at match startups concerning my name. The slurping continues to this day...
