Pretty sure that's Natalie Portman as Queen Amidala, not Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia. But the message is well received.
I was on my way home from work yesterday afternoon when I got a splitting headache for no reason. On a red stoplight, I checked my phone to kill some time, and saw the news. I proceeded to miss my next 3 intersections.
There are so many modern fantasy heroines that kick *** based on male fantasy like Johansson's Black Widow or Saldana's Gamora. But none of them compare to Leia, who is more real and genuine, and not how man perceive she should.
I know most people will remember her with the golden bikini, but I will always remember her from her scene on Hoth, as defiant, witty, and courageous. Rest in peace, Carrie Fisher. 1000 years from now when humanity has spread to different star systems, people will still talk about the tale of a princess that saved the galaxy.
