All jokes aside, I still miss the cockpit effects in MW3. Seeing a bullet hole suddenly appear in my cockpit was horrifying, and made me feel like I was actually in a war machine fighting other war machines.

But how could we have cracked windshields with bullet holes and everything, if everyone runs Cockpit glass disabled?!
(I still run it enabled, but i'm not a big fan of the green-tinted glass, i miss the old effects, that looked grimy as ****)

I always liked the canopy breach of Elite: Dangerous, you just see your cockpit getting destroyed.

There's no emergency quite as bad as dropping into space at a starport, with only 1 1/2 minutes of air left in a Lakon, and having to yell at other players to clear the way so you can dock and not die a horrible death, which involves entering the damn base at max speed.

Well Posted Image , this is just the regular stumping for making those fundamental mech parts have a functionPosted Image it just feels apt to do it now that mguns are usable again.
Cockpit part loss, xplode!
Gyro part loss, slow speed (50%) and earthquake sim (reverse of shake resist module)!
Engine 3 parts loss, death!
Arm Actuator upper part loss, no vertical traversal for arms! lower part loss, no horizontal traversal!

Reading that brought back some really great MW3 memories!
I really hope one of the Dev team reads this topic and decides to implement this into patch later on.
Having visual & audio cues notify you that your "head" was really getting hit really had that ultra immersive effect on the whole experience that just made it that much more real. I hope that people playing MWO get to experience that someday too.

We could also have little effects like tiny blood spots on the hud, in case the pilot get's wounded...

But, does Ferro-Glass (your cockpit "glass") really crack when damaged? What does the fluff say?

Explodable? No! But I proposed this a while ago...

Cracked glass spots here and there and some melted glass stripe from lasers, all this without going excessive.

It would be cool if those non functional cockpit controls and screen sometimes sparked and burst, changing to a destroyed look as your mech gets pummeled. Although often combined fire nukes you before you can enjoy being mostly toast, on occasional I am stumbling around at like 70% destroyed....but with no obvious ill effects other than I might be missing weapons.

If I ever make a mech game, fatal damage to the cockpit will be met with a violent shake and a change of view point where you're suddenly looking from the pilot's PoV instead of the mech's (it will be first person). There will be different variants, like the pilot violently slamming against the main screen, cracking it. Blood trickles down the pilots face as the bitching betty gives system failures and the screen has a warning about loss of vitals.

I believe they were supposed to be in game sometimes last year but "reasons" popped up for them not too. Of course I don't actually remember (or don't care enough anymore) to know if my memory is correct or not. Because PGI.

PGI added ghost heat to your memory. PLZ fix.
