Depends on the results you want. If you just want less stress take a break. If you want to improve, then losses can teach you much more than victories.

I...never thought of it this way. Thanks though, means something.

Oh dear god that aerobics video...

Seriously though I just don't bother playing FP/CW. I'm tempted every now and again but it just doesn't seem worth the trouble most of the time. Hop in a mech that needs leveling up, or just in an old favorite, and play some QP matches. That's all I do, keep things casual and try to have fun. I don't have any real life friends who are interested in playing the game, so I don't do group drops. Just pray for a decent MM experience and see what happens in QP.

friends

I've met plenty of people I enjoy dropping with on the FRR hub since I showed up there about half a year ago with full intent of becoming a STORMTROOPER. (I still have that deck, though, I've moved a lot of the engines around now, I've adopted both a Warhammer and Grasshopper deck, so I guess you could still call me a stormtrooper in some ways.)

I think the FRR hub is like the #1 reason I keep going back to FW. No matter how depressed I get I can always find someone to fight by my side (though maybe not able to give orders...but that's OK. A good chunk of them are drunken vikings I don't expect them to give coherent orders all the time :P)

I guess what I need is more, spiritual advice. How do I keep from burning out? How can you stay positive after being rolled 48-12 vs EVIL or the like? What do you guys do?

I am considering joining a bigger unit that consistently fields larger teams in FP and has regular drop callers... this is a more satisfying way to play, win or lose.

(My unit are all great guys and we have some great pilots. Unfortunately we never quite got the critical mass to play in larger groups most of the time. When we do, it's far superior to solo FP, where you are weighed down by endless potato teams, trying to compete with larger premades.)

We should all probably Tweet Russ more often. It's the only thing he pays attention to.

Be polite. Tell him how much we love his game, and how much more money we want to spend on it. But there's this thing you wish he'd really address which is holding us back...

A thing that happened sometimes on the FFR hub is that a mixed group man that keeps losing asks one of the better units to borrow them a more experienced drop caller to turn things around for them, I've done this on a few occasions and it was successful.

Bitching about cheating or balance etc is completely banned in drops i call, I immediately kick people out who do it again after i telle them to stop. It doesn't matter if it's true or not actually, I don't give af if the enemy is actually cheating or not. Bitching hurts the team morale and and is distracting, that's what matters.

Yesterday we dropped and were trading against the best trade mechs the IS has. It sucked. Got wrecked twice in a row. Then we changed to brawl decks and ate our next two opponents and It was glorious fun. Ppcs, gauss and erll may be the favored meta but nobody trades for crap when your whole team barrells in and punches them in the face.

Also, our 2 week IS contract starts Wednesday, starbomber. You wanna come brawl with us, you are more than welcome. rodcbr1.teamspeak3.com. You can roll the fun stuff. Srms for days. :)

You take a moment to...

1. Evaluate your abilities
2. Evaluate the people you were playing with
3. Evaluate the mechs you deployed with
4. Evaluate the opposition

You might consider making some changes in play style, tactics, or who you drop with. Seek self-improvement always, always, always.

If you dropped alone, well, hell, there's a problem in itself-don't drop alone. Drop with friends, or with a major team. Use teamwork, communication, target ID, proper maneuvers and loadouts. It all factors in.

100% agree with Commander A9.

Nobody just waltzes into FW and consistently wins w/o preparation on all fronts... you lose alot before you start winning...

Alot.

Sometimes I drop alone. Is like to lie and say I do it to practice twisting and finding new ways to stay in cover while getting to brawl range but mostly I do it because I'm impatient and can't wait for a drop to finish. :P

Well, I've made friends with few good people ...
There have been times when I logged in to TS and ended up not playing, but having a conversation about anything interesting with those guys :)

Sometimes I also go to private lobby with friends to test out something.

It can recharge your spirit and motivation ....

Well the big picture up above my last post that said salt and me mentioning salt should be a big hint, if you cant see that then you have a condition.

I dont need to prove anything, especially to the likes of yourself, I know players that get less damage per match than you but are twice the player you are. Anyone can sit at the back of the pack and protect his KDR like you, real men are up the front sharing armor. When you learn to play like that and get good scores, come and talk to me.

Edit: reals men prove what they say ...
