nukes4noobies
-2 weapon groups
-100 damage at brawl range before the target knows what hit them
-no role confusion
-incentive for new players to put their 100 ton mech where it belongs; at the front line

"The slaughter-wolves advanced, minded not the water, a host of raiders westward over the flow, over the bright water bore their shields: voyagers to land brought fibrous breastplates. Opposite stood Beorhtnoth with his warriors, ready for the fierce invaders. He ordered his men to form a war-hedge with their armor and to hold the formation fast against the enemy. Now was combat near, glory in battle. The time had come when doomed men should fall. Shouts were raised; stormcrows circled, the kite eager for food. On earth there was uproar."

So, I put some lrms on here though I would never do that on my own build. It is important that a new player can always feel like they are engaging. And as a newbie, LRMs are a major part of them game. AMS is a must at that stage, until they understand cover and know the maps a bit better.
BUT, the build is still a brawly mech, which is what we want to teach new players to do with a 100 ton mech. The mech is also designed to help teach torso twisting. The MPLs and LBX20 both have solid cool downs, plus I have a solid shield arm to further entice twisting.

We've got another set of Champion Mech's we'd like your help making builds for!
Keep in mind these will mostly be used by new playersl!
Please submit your build for the Warhammer Champion!
Post your build using Smurfy Mechlab, with whichever variant you'd like.

Remember to click the Like button at the bottom of other posted builds for your favorites!
The top 3 voted builds will be taken into a separate discussion thread which our designer will then later review your discussions and debates on it to make the final call as to which is the best of the 3 to implement.
Thank you very much again for your contribution!
What about it?
You mean the part where 600 is PPFLD? Realistically though, that's quite enough, and still there is ERMLs for backup. They should also learn how to use Gauss Rifles, like they should learn situational awareness by having weak rear armor. If they don't get challenging mechs, then they won't improve themselves, Kodiak is an easy mech to begin with (compared to other assaults).

That is gonna be way too hot. Trial mechs don't get coolrun and heat capacity bonuses because you must own a mech to unlock those. So the build needs to be much cooler. Like ~33% would be the lowest reasonable pick.

TOO DAMN HOT. First time a new player alpha strikes he goes into shutdown and the beams cut off before they've even delivered full damage. He'll restart and alpha again before properly cooling and heat explosion himself before he knows what is happening. He could possibly even do that at the drop zone when doing the weapon testing EVERY player does.

I find it amusing that the invalid (hero variants cannot ever be used for champions) troll build (2 tags, an LB-2X and AMS without ammo) has the most votes. Its like a lot of forum readers just aren't taking this task seriously.
