My AS7-S with a LFE and an LB20-X AC?
Oh yesssss :D
(at least i hope so)

Don't think that will wirk. LBX-20 requires STD engine ca use of crit space. Same with HGR.

Granted with a normal XL, However, due to the LB-20-X using 1 less Crit and the IS Light Fusion Engine only using 2 crits/ST, then it's more than doable.

If there are new future single mech packs, what will happen to the prices for the MWO Tournament?
I haven't got my free mechpack yet. Can I use this for a future mechpack?

You know, i totally bet most of the "we want more maps/game modes" guys are the same ones who avoid escort, and constantly vote for Polar Highlands.

you REALLY give them a reason to want to do so when you ignore stuff they GAVE you because you've whined so damn much about it. stop acting like entitled little shits. they don't owe you a damn thing.

and don't say "I've bought X amount of MC or Mech packs, etc" because.... guess what.... you got what you paid for. that still doesn't entitle you to b***h and whine because what they actually GAVE you isn't stuff you want.

Mean, hell, guess what, Escort involves working as a TEAM. this is a TEAM game. So grow a pair and learn to coordinate. if you're on Offense, the VIP's route is randomized. you scout, you find the VIP, THEN you commit to combat. on Defense, you set the bigger, slower guys to bodyguard the VIP, and use the lights and mediums to harass and distract. Not that hard.

problem is poke p***ies don't want to actually have to hunt. they just wanna hide and take potshots, which is a surefire way to lose Escort.

Hi folks, it is 2/7/17. Do we have a date for the PTS? I really would like to test out these features.

Yeah, I am taking a break until the new skill system is in the game, since I am kind of burnt out on running the same Mechs over and over and I have no desire to buy 3 new chassis in order to master another Mech.

Me too. I think it's too big of a change to go off without a hitch and I can exercise patience until the dust settles. I'll come back for sure, I just want other people to make all the mistakes first, lol.

so we all keep talking about the voting to get more selection, but what if we tweaked it so that instead of the slider representing phases, it represents maps. so instead of going through the conquest stage, you are now going through the alpine peaks stage, and you vote for the mode.

invasion modes seem to be textured after qp maps, so when ever you are on a comparable map (alpine to boreal, and hpg to vitric, and canyon network to hellibore springs, some double up, like boreal and polar and alpine, and if their added mining and vitric might combo in addition to vitric and hpg) and you vote invasion, it brings up the comparable invasion map.

then you can randomize the order of the maps on the slider for each planet, to give each planet a unique feel.

to add immersion, add in a voice over or in some way communicate to the player that you are trying to subdue so and so section of the planet, and each objective is a mission to help conquer that section of the planet.
example) the slider is at polar highlands, you vote for conquest, you get an in game message from command saying 'we have identified some vital rescources in the polar highland operational territory, capture them for the glory of (insert faction here). meanwhile, a dom game is happening on polar, and in the storyline of that planets invasion, its just another area and objective command is sending forces to in order to take that particular region of the planet.

crimson straight and river city could sync up with emerald taiga, and caustic and terra therma with sulphourous rift. i realized thats the only invasion map without an equivelant in the examples, so i just wanted to add that.

I would be down with the Map instead of mode concept, but we are still going to hit the same wall... wheterh it be Polar/Alpine, Terra or whatever map and regardless of the mode the tryhards will load up on the map-based meta and feast on players that don't have the resources to mix-n-match for the situation.

First we need a gate to keep them from getting in from the kiddie pool.

I would almost be tempted to make it QP-esque where you vote map/mode each time just so people with incredible resources (me included!) can't have an automatic edge over the people that can't afford to have 100+ viable mechs that cover the gamut of scenarios.

Interesting point, but some modes are just require too much specialization, and it may promote weight diversity (if not build diversity. Its something to make lights and assaults more required, though i agree on build diversity point if they add mode voting to after the lobby. Also, knowing the map before hand is a big thing for russ, but i dont really think its a big deal honostly.

If we didn't know map prior, you'd see "generalist meta" instead of niche meta, i think... all those hot sniper builds go out the window if you don't know if its gonna be terra therma or vitric...

You could still seperate it by region. You could group maps by environment type, and its randomized amongst that environments different maps based on what mode was voted on, so wastland includes caustic, therma, and sulpherous, and the mode voted on determins the map, as maps should be paired with modes that fit them best, so tourmaline(paired with grim plexus and portico) doesnt get conquest, as the spawns are problematic there, but grim works great.

In some ways, as I'm reading all of this, I'm glad that I took a breather for a while from this game... it seems a lot of disappointed fans are hoping against hope for some changes they have asked for (not that there haven't been any).

I've noted in the years that I've been playing a decidedly demanding player base that has some high expectations with how games are rolled out these days, and without a bank-roll in the hundreds of millions, I'm not sure how any of these franchises keep up.

I also know that man of the people who go out of their way to communicate typically are motivated because of issues and not those who just take a deep breath and enjoy what they have.

That said, I am glad I got here for the roll out of the new skill system so I wasn't completely learning something new only to have it completely change on me!

I'm just getting my feet wet so we'll see how all this plays out, but I for one am hopeful, only because I have not gone through what many of you have.

Has a lot of this transpired because of money? You bet! But with Free to Play, revenue generation is obviously a serious consideration, and unfortunately the way of the games these days is if you want to play and stay competitive, you have to pay. I don't like the model at all, but it's the way of the world now. We may not have many of these games if they didn't use this model.

How I read some positive spin into this is that the developers has made a commitment to continue to refine and work on the game, and I see Mechwarrior 5 as almost an add on to bring a first person story to this game, and may generate some more interest, which will keep the team working diligently to continue making this a viable game to play, even with its many quirks, as they all have, no matter how hard a developer tries to fix every single problem.

I'm glad to see an active and hopeful (even though perhaps disillusioned about promises that they still want to believe will happen) community that is willing to keep an open mind and are willing to stick it out because they truly enjoy the game. That means that its a game worth staying around for. I'm pretty tolerant myself of most issues; but I completely admit I get excited stomping around practice maps and 'lasering' things, so take that for what it is.

Kudos to the team who continues to do their best to make a good game, and kudos to the players who have been tolerant of a long and tedious wait to see things continue to be advanced, though it may seem like a never ending story, it's good to see angry people. It means they really like the game, and want a reason to continue to play.

So when will the announcement for...

The IS Heros happen (it is February for like 6 more days....)
&
The 3060 announcements, assuming a town hall..Early March is what exactly? 3rd or the 10th is my guess for most likely date to when Russ would, if following the early March part. (MARCH 17TH IS TO LATE, THAT'S MID :P)

Just saying guys it's quite >.>

Any updates PGI???

4 new mechs showcasing new tech?

I appreciate Skill tree took longer than planned, but how about a revised high level plan? Peeps could do with something to look FWD to/have a reason to stay/have a reason to come back!!!!

If you check out the slideshow on the front page, you'll see some graphics with numbers mixed in. It's a code. It decodes to "March 14th".

Havn't you learned anything from other game companies that have made massive changes in a game after a few years (skill tree)

I would say that the conclusion in 100% of the cases have been, don't!

Hell with Star Wars Galaxies it even got the the boss of SoE to admit that they wher wrong, how often do that happen ? :)
