Out of ammo? You need more tonnages lol. I can give you a max ammo build if you want? I used it to crank 1800dmg+ in FP when the KDK3 was full disgusting. I can still have great QP matches in KDK3s... Just gotta be very careful about positioning now where before you could just walk out and double-tap anything into oblivion. Tonnage hurts FP too much to bring one now.

As I said elsewhere most of the balance issue is simply teamwork/focus fire and not trying to LRM boat. That is it really. At the elite (way above me) level cERPPC is king (mixed with PPFLD Gauss). A cERPPC mech can actually out-range a BLR1G / 6ERL with quirk/module and be damaging it outside of I think 1500m. So ye, IS can't win the super long range trades, pop tarting also makes a difference - but this is so rare that the elite of MWO play that it's just us mid-range, that imbalance isn't noticeable as a result as most people can't pop-tart to any decent level.

KCOM has beaten some top tier trade teams on trade favoring maps using decks full of mid to close range mechs.

It just takes a lot of coordination and a good command of the maps.

Never said it can't be done - But take Alpine and a bunch of Elite take the hill - You cannot approach close.

That said one can always come up with a dozen scenarios things wont work in :P

I agree that teamwork is op but after a month on clanside I think poptarting does make a difference outside the "elite". I leveld my gyrs in the beginning and even without eliteskills the erppc + dualgauss was somewhat easymode. I rarely poptarted with gauss before because I'm used to laservomiting all over the place so I'm not that good at it. Nevertheless my stats gone up a chunk. I killed more (juicy XL-shoulders) overall damage rose, I even headshotted 6 times this month (I have 40 now after 3 years...). Of course there where some realy bad IS-lurmslingers from time to time, or stationary turrets but even when my team got stomped I dished out quite a lot compared to the stomps I soldiered through on IS-side.
Back on IS side I feel the pain again.

If i did the math right, my total possible damage is 2420, so i landed about 1/2 my shots. Alot of trees and rocks on forest colony paid the price :P

So back to Clan this week. 3 weeks as IS I think. A summary.

I started here:

So KDR went down as did W/L, to be expected over time. It doesn't matter so much. Managed to chew apart 800 Clan mechs in 3 weeks, not a bad.

What I found most interesting is a much higher KMDD counter while running IS mechs. I actually thought it would be the other way around with so much IS structure etc. I also killed more mechs per game as an average as IS, also quite interesting. I do love running IS mechs though, prefer it most of the time.

At the end of the day, for the vast majority of Faction Play matches - I don't believe any one side is "OP". Each have strength/weakness and you just gotta play to it.

The biggest factor overall? Team work.

No matter if I dropped solo or in a group from 2-12 mans, the thing that decided most battles was team work. Even in the PUG v PUG matches, I suspect the other team were not using VOIP (spread out over the map etc), where the sides I was on did. It usually wasn't a lot, something is far better than nothing in this instance.

Anyway - Jump onto TS guys, seek out a unit or even just go a DROP with a unit (if you aren't interested in being in one). I haven't had a unit that wasn't welcoming of others to come and drop with them. Just make sure you're prepared to play their way really.
