So with the last mech released today (Javein) does this round out a good margin of 3025ish mechs for you guys? Obviously there are still 100+ mechs left, and I am sure each of you could make a long list of those you desire to have. But the question remains of all these mechs in MWO that fit the era...

Are you content for now, as we jump into some 3060ish mechs in March?
Is the roster of these mechs set to make HBS Battletech feel flushed out?

If not content what 3 realistic mechs would you say make you feel better if they came in this year or early next?

No, by Kerensky's hairy backside no!

The Javelin.. why did it have to be the Javelin....

I would've killed for the Stinger, Wasp or Valkyrie!

No, but I'm happy about the javelin today.

Do you really want the answer to that?

That said the answer to this by any 3025 purist will be no since there are plenty missing still, basically so long as mechs from the 3025 era are missing, they aren't content.

No no no. The Sting, Valyrie and Wasp are still a no show. How can anyone be happy at a time like this?

Yes I m joking and being dramatic. :)

It was more rhetorical, I see PGI using it as a test case, poor sales they will just say no-one wants to buy lights and not build them, good sales PGI laughs all the way to the bank as we buy more sh*t mechs...

I'm a 3025 snob, so I'll never be truly content... but the Javelin is the last of the 'mechs I really adore from TT that isn't in here already, so I'm pretty pleased at the moment.

Most of the remaining 'mechs I'd like to see tend to be horribly redundant (Guillotine, Flashman) or otherwise not really appropriate (Shogun, Clint). Crusader probably falls in the former category, but at least has the iconic unseenness going for it.

As for HBS, can't they model their own damn 'mechs? I mean, I know they want the art styles to be similar, but does that mean PGI really has to create crappy 'mechs, irrelevant, DOA 'mechs like the Stinger and Wasp just so HBS can have them in their game? (They really should have them in their game, by the way, but we don't exactly need them in this one...)

I still need my Scorpion, Goliath, Vulcan and (maybe) the Dervish.

Macross trio of Stinger/Wasp/Valkyrie would be quite awesome as well.

Did the Dervish get released while I wasn't paying attention?

I don't begrudge newer mechs being released. But that doesn't mean I'm satisfied.

3025 guys will never be content so long as a single 3025 'mech remains unreleased, no matter how redundant, awful, or nonsensical that 'Mech is and how poorly it would sell/perform in MWO.

Furthermore, 3025 guys will never be okay with post-3025 'Mechs being released at any time for any reason, regardless of the completeness level of the 3025 stable.

Basically you can't make 3025 guys happy unless you excise the Clans and all Level 2 or higher tech from the game.

But that's okay. They get two games of their very own coming out later this year and next year which're never going advance beyond their preferred era of play. Us FedComm Civil War fans are allowed to have one that sorta halfway allows us to play with the toys we like, too. Heh, or at least so I'd like to think.

I would be absolutely stunned if neither of these games end up without a timeline advancing expansion at some point, and would still be pretty surprised if just one of them did.

Because 20 tonners that can't even move as fast as a Locust would be 100% DOA.

Still lots of 3025 mechs I would for no other reason than HBS to be able to get the models.

'cept they would get an engine cap of 170 for the Stingers/Wasp...

2*6 = base 120 engine

120*1.4 (the number used for lights) gives 168 or 170 with rounding.

STG-3G

Gauss ammo for JJ's

STG-3R

Guass ammo for JJ's

Just two Stinger examples that would work in MWO...

Your "would work in MWO" examples are armed with one medium laser and two machine guns, or two medium lasers.

You and I have very, very different definitions of "would work", man...

They are 20 tonners... Also, that's assuming no hard point inflation as those are the stock weapons on the 3R and 3G, what I was intending in showing is that they would not be that much slower than a Locust thanks to how PGI does engine caps. Also you could rip out JJ's to get more tonnage to work with, how many jump jets do you really need / want on a 20t mech?

You'll technically have 3 games available to you for your fedcom era. MWLL, MW4Mercs, and MWO since we're advancing the timeline.

Frankly I'm still salty I was sold on MWO being a 3025 era experience, then clans got shoehorned in because "Muh Money."

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind clan mechs, and I pull consistant good games in my Timberwolf... but I'm just totally burnt out on 3050+ games... the last good 3025 era game we had was Mech2 Mercs, and the games have been hinging on Clans/Fedcom ever since.

I just want a return to purity, I want a game that plays similar to MWO, but has the 3025 and star league era mechs that we've never gotten to see on the screen. I want to be able to slog it out over the battlefields in aging mechs that are held together by the barest of myomer muscles and rust.

I want a game with multiplayer included, that has salvage, repair/rearm, and all the interesting bits of a single player campaign that I was promised with the pillars back in 2012.

But we've all forgotten what was promised back then... instead everyone wants the shiny new tech... I'm tired of shiny new tech. I want base tech level 1, so we can actually work out balance.

Really I think it is time to move on. I don't see why they cant do more 3060 units and maybe pop back for the occasional 3025 unit though.

I personally want a Wasp.

3050- Piranha and Incubus needed.

The other unit high on my list is the Spector and it fits in with the 3060 units anyway.

The weirdest butthurt tone in this thread.

I do prefer the 3025, yeah I'm happy, yeah I'll have some lingering dissatisfaction until lots more get released.

Anyone with any history with MW/BT will have their pet 'mechs, you got yours, I got mine. Live and let live.

I'll be happy for you when you get your Mk. 2.
