Warhammer IIC. Because I want to see the rest of the IIC IS counterparts make it in game before we get spammed with 3060 mech master race purists. Posted Image

In all seriousness, my vote goes to the Mad Cat MK.2 since it's simply a clan battlemech. In my rule book it's clan battlemechs > clan omnimechs with whatever I field. Even though I have no personal nostalgia for either of the two mechs (I will end up buying the Mad Cat Mk.2 for c-bills in game later on down the road), I think the MK.2 should get in first around mid summertime. Besides, the Blood Asp reminds me of a direct rip off of a Warhammer 40k warlord class titan (And hey, I have nothing against the titans nor the imperial knights because i love mech's with great helms).

My vote goes to the Blood Asp. Partially because I like snakes, partially because its an awesome mech(those ballistic hardpoint though), and partially because it looks infinitely better than the FatCat MK2(seriously, that this is an inefficient, ugly as f*** piece of junk, and no, I'm not afraid of the Clan poopfish junkies who will try to ram their Billy Mays ideology down my throat).

I know at this point you're actively insulting it just to get me angry, but I don't care. You can't just diss a glorious mech like that and expect to not get called out on it. The Mad Cat MK II is beautiful, and it's definitely not a "piece of junk".

If the Blood Asp gets in game you have inspired me to mimic this Titans paint job for it. Posted Image

I can diss the FatCat MK2. Its an over-sized, inefficient, lazily built piece of trash that should never have seen the light of day.

By all means list your favorite mech.....seriously I said no petty grudges. If you can't handle that, how do you plan on it when I kill you while i pilot a MK II?

PGI has to fund MW5, they know the Mk II will sell more than any other Mech to date. Disregarding the meta and the dynamics of both the Blood Asp and the Mk II, I think the choice is obvious.

I fully expect the two Clan Mechs announced in March to be the Mk II and the Nova Cat.

Sure, but the next pack will probably have a Blood Asp.

I'll post something here that might be interesting for you Mad Cat MK.2 vs Blood Asp debaters. I did a three round combat trial for each of the mechs in their Prime config. Whenever I do a combat trial of two similar weight class mechs this is what I do:

- Pair up each mech against each other with their default prime load out

- A standard default 3/4 pilot and gunnery skill rating for both mechs (so no pilot superiority over the other)

- Three round match up to see who emerges on top. If tied then another 3.

http://battletech.rp...ctory_frame.php

Here are the results for what I got. Remember, the site recreates a simulation of a 1v1 battletech game. The combat simulator is still in beta. Battle value may come into play but doesn't necessarily decide the victor (lower BV mechs on the site have a higher win ratio if they win against higher BV mechs).

Spoiler

After the victorious mech emerged from the three trials a surprise challenger appeared....

Spoiler

Both are great mechs. I'd love to have them both.

However if they appear in MWO two sad things will happen:

- Madcat MKII will be stripped of its iconic "ears". Because tryhardism!

- Blood Asp - B will invalidate (an understatement) every single BloodAsp because of the ECM in the CT. (unless PGI lets us switch CT pods)

The B will have less skill points!

Oh yeah, and I prefer this version of the asp:

cockpit looks more badass, and those urbie leg warmers are just amazing

If we could just get a Blood Asp that looks nearly identical to that then I know which mech I'll be pilotting for a year after it comes out.

Lets say Zero skill points for the B. It would still be superior.
besides I don't think a mech as powerful as the blood asp will get many skill points on its other variants.

ECM is too good, and you need a lot of skill points to compensate for that (which is not happening)

Not really. ECM is a good tool in the yolo queue because you have some LRM-lobbing potatoes roaming around, but when you are playing against only good players, there are a ton of things I would rather have than ECM, including increased agility/durability/heat efficiency that would come from skills.

That'd actually be an interesting balance mechanism for Supah-Ovahpahformin' 'Mechs everyone hates like the Brodiak, Asp, or potentially Muck Too. Kinda like how big bad nasty game-winning 'Mechs in the current system get fewer module slots, 'Mechs with a large number of innate advantages could end up with fewer overall skill nodes to work with.

I know you were being a punk, but nevertheless I feel like it might well be an idea worth discussing.

Top mounted gauss will go nicely with ECM when sniping. There is no blip, there is no lock, no nothing! just gauss rounds coming at the enemy!

You still have to expose quite a bit of yourself to shoot those, and people will see you because you are an assault that doesn't have Stalker esque hitboxes.

I wasn't being a punk, that was a legitimate response, and a likely course of action PGI would take.

Also, you should all expect the KDK-3 to have less agility/heat efficiency/speed/cooldown than it gets now from the current skill tree. Its likely going to get next to nothing from the skill tree.

So, what wonderful, always good, meta compliant mechs do you prefer? What do you classify as worth "seeing the light of day"?
