CT 2nd laser BAD

I like it. Reminds me late BF-109
Spoiler

It is "good ugly".

However, that undersized third LRM on Steiner variant saddens me. It is "bad ugly".

Still i love the mech.

You may like it but that doesn't change the FACT that this isn't what the bushwacker should look like. The Bushwacker is very characteristic for its "layered" (horizontal) appearence:
complex feet , plain lower legs, complex joint, plain upper leg with a large boxy pelvis and after that a really complex layer in which almost all of its weapons are placed. The second energy hardpoint breaks that pattern by being just slightly too far up the torso. Another thing it does is it breaks the side profile of the mech which is really improtant for its asthetic.
It really should be lower, man.

Edit: the undersized lrm is also bad but PGI has addressed the issues with hardpoint sizes multiple times. Its an code/engine limitation that they aren't willing to invest resources on at this point.
BUT the laser thing is purely art related issue and trust me that placement for this hardpoint for this mech is like the snub lasers for the maddog! It is a problem.

I agree with this. Front on Steiner is ok for me, but side on Kurita screen is worse..
Right side of the hunch above cockpit (near big LRM launcher) would be better position, imho. Btw, geometry there seems the same, so it wouldn't require much remodelling, just moving laser tube to new position..

I've made a little graphic to help me explain...
Spoiler

The area on the right of the top hunch is reserved for missile harpoints on the p1 variant.
The bushwackers nose just screams "put my weapons inside this area". Placing a weapon outside is very disruptive of the whole "flow" of the figure.

I understand that the very plain Parade Sceme of House Steiner Lyran Guards may look a bit empty to some and therefore the fine artists at PGI added a third color channel to put in some more color by those yellow markings.

But I have two complaints:
1. Those markings (same for inscriptions) should be available as decal sets and not fix part of the Parade Camo pattern.
2. Those yellow markings are overused this Bushwacker looks like it wears a Lyran Guard Parade pattern and had an accident with a yellow construction truck full of warning checkers.

Solution:
If we only had the plain blue with a white stripe parade pattern and could add unit insignias (House Steiner, Lyran Guards, Company Logo maybe some warning/markers or a personal insription/pinup) the mech would look absolutely fine as overall composition.
Maybe PGI could offer a clean Lyran Guards Parade Pattern, or give the third yellow color channel an off switch in the camo lab?

As it is the Parade Pattern looks overloaded to me, even without any decals.

PS: Lyran Guard Parade Pattern, Lyran Guards Logo in background (old shield form) and 11th Lyran Guards Logo on right leg on a Wolverine for reference:

Would indeed been kinda plain to just have two color channel for that older pattern. But I guess they had to make it fair for all factions and exploit the fact that all should be able to use three colors. Could always fill in the third color channel with the same color as the first or second if you dont want the "yellow" markings.
I just have to nitpick.. Im usually fierce at color correction and what color is which. Those are orange markings Posted Image

Quriks seem alright, thank God none have holy trinity going for them (range, heat, and cooldown/duration all on single chassis not good...)

By alright you mean bad I guess? That must be what you mean, because these quirks are all pretty weak. By not good you mean "able to compete with Clan mechs"? Seriously man?

They only have to "compete" as it were, for a couple months until the great skill tree change happens and it follows the trend to not splash overpowering quirks on from the start which then need nerfing (as happened to the Kodiak).

The KDK-3 had quirks on par with the Bushwacker... better even. Are you seriously comparing those two right now? That is by far the worst comparison I have ever heard, as the KDK-3 is an obvious power house, where the Bushwacker is just meh.

MISSILE COOLDOWN: 10.00 % MISSILE VELOCITY: 10.00 % STRUCTURE BONUS (CT): 18.00 STRUCTURE BONUS (LT): 13.00 STRUCTURE BONUS (RT): 13.00 STRUCTURE BONUS (LA): 12.00 STRUCTURE BONUS (RA): 12.00 STRUCTURE BONUS (LL): 13.00 STRUCTURE BONUS (RL): 13.00

That's a good quirk set given a missile focused 55 tonner with good geometry.

I'm worried about why they went with armor quirks if it had good geometry. I have a bad feeling at the torsos were popping too easily in the tests.

I've been super stoked for the Bushy, the quirk sets look good for my builds so yeah, pretty happy overall.
Gonna be mastering these up real quick.

Besides, as mentioned most these quirks will evaporate soon anyway so not getting hung upon them even if they were bad (okay, guess to a meta player they are bad).

And free armor?! Yes please! (though again, probably loose it with skill trees but for now, yay!)

i'm gonna laugh the first time someone shoots at one face to face only to see its' laser/ballistic/missile pass right through the gap under the armpits and miss the mech entirely. hit registration support tickets galore! ;)
