But when people talk about how buying stuff for MWO is "a good deal", it reminds me of people who insist that buying a $500 ship in Star Citizen is a "good deal", based on how much time it would take them to buy it with game currency, or how much better it is than other ships, and all that. Same thing with any game where you can spend real money, really. Clash of Clans. Or when HBS is trying to sell Battletech merchandise and they're offering the Atlas resin statue for $200, and people on the forum said that was "a good deal". Just a matter of perspective, really. For me, it's not worth the money, that's all.
hey, spend what you want.. for nearly 4 years i spent 100 bucks and have around 100 mechs.. Bought small MC packages, bought colors some one shot camo's, mech bays and some random heroes.. All in all i'd say "good deal" So coming from a guy that doesn't spend much on games in general, 15 bucks in an updated regularly vid game, i'd say.. "worth it"
then again, i am the guy that did eventually splurge just a few months ago, and spent 200 bucks to buy 2 4 packs, that had tons of colors to upgrade both accounts, and said ok.. i'm done spending for a while.. Darn PGI and there 3 bonus colors!! I really don't think i would of pulled the trigger for 15 bucks if it wasn't for that

But 200 bucks on the sculpture, well, figure 200 bucks on a hand painted piece of art, an artist has to eat right? But i'm with ya, it isn't high on my list of priorities.. But hey if my budget had 1000 bucks a year i spent on boobles and **** to place around my house.. i suppose it could be on the list over a Hand painted Vase, or odd piece of rock sculpture in the style of a dragon.. (wait that second one sounds good. anyone know of a nice rock dragon i can buy?!)

Wait, people don't play that game?
Of the 22 mechs I currently have, only 8 of those have engines. And 3 of them are omnimechs. I'd gut them if I could.
I used to do that back in the day, but I just got tired of it. Sometimes you just want to hop into an older mech for old times' sake, and it's tedious to have to dig through your garage for parts every time. Out of my 321 mechs, only 24 are without engines.

Per the January and beyond roadmap; the time jump will be officially announced in March. The timeline jump will not occur until sometime in the Summer. Also in March will be the announced release of two Caln and Two IS Mechs of which 1 for each faction will be from the 3060+ era. Until then, we can expect that all Mechs and tech that are announced or released will be from the 3053 timeline that we are in currently.

This is the last mech pack announcement until March....in other words all future announcements could be potentially from 3053+

Disappointed that it isn't a Wasp/Stinger combo pack, even though those two 'mechs wouldn't work well in MWO's game. They're some of the most common 'mechs in Battletech, pity MWO couldn't ever get around to creating a role for recon 'mechs to play.
Not enough to bring me back, and with the timeline advancing to the 3060 tech, there won't be anything else coming. Pity we got the Roughneck instead of the Crusader, that was probably it's last chance.
The price drop is a good idea, but with the vague roadmap and sluggish development, sinking more cash into MWO doesn't seem wise right now. The Wasp might've gotten me to spend despite how bad it would be, but not the Jav.

MRMs might be a bit too heavy to be useful in lights.. but we'll see.

I was answering his post as to why there wwould be no 3060+ tech on the Javelin and the other Mech that are coming before March.

Just to clarify, there will be no new mech announced until the 4-mech future tech pack coming in March.

I would have preferred a clan 20 tonner ... but hey at least its a new light, and as such there is little fear of a new OP mech being unleashed on the masses. – though who knows maybe lights will become the new meta by the time this one lands.
Have pre-ordered the standard pack – will likely add to this. Appreciate that its $15 and liking they are adding colours to mech packs again . (Even though modules do seem better value to me – even as compulsory future savings but hey… shiny new colours)
On a side note; Battlemechs and upgrade costs sheesh… without any sanity checking viability/practicality of upgrades, I figure it would cost ~ $38,425,000 Cbills to upgrade to max XL engines, DHS, Endo on all seven if I got the ultimate pack. (was thinking this might be one of the cheapest ways to tick the IS loyalty mechs checkboxes this year… depending on how PGI handle that this year and depending on the rewards too).
