I can't see why I need to add any more lights to the bunch I already have and almost never use.

Thanks. - Will they have similar range to the clan versions?

Are there any other energy weapons that are likely to drop for IS in this years new weapons release?

The ERML and ERSL are probably the only two 'guaranteed' energy drops.

There are some PPC variants (Light, less damage, Heavy, more damage, Snub, reduced weight) that are possible, and less likely, the Binary Laser (A 'Super Large' antique laser unlikely to show up) and the Bombast Laser (Variable yield).

EDIT: Forgot. As for range, TT rules have them as having slightly less range. This will probably carry over.

I was expecting to see a worse IS light, but more than likely, probably a good choice before the weapon jump in terms of mechpack planning.

Honestly, I am definitely split on this.

$15USD. Not a bad start for an attempt at pricing. So, I'm wondering if I should look towards the upcoming new tech implements as a way of possibly buying it.

But until I know for sure that some weapons for IS are to be added that will benefit this mech, I will not purchase it right away.

You missed X-Pulse lasers (longer range for more heat like ER lasers), those get introduced in 3057. PPC variants are really tough to say, since they come in 3067, which is probably the latest that I imagine PGI would skip the timeline to.

Oh, I forgot.

Theres also a Heavy and ER version of the Flamer that becomes available (Whoop de do) that probably wont make it.

And finally, the Plasma Rifle, the first energy weapon to use ammo. That is extremely unlikely to drop, though it would probably be the most mechanically unique weapon to do so if it did. Long range, ammo fed energy weapon that does damage and increases heat.

It probably won't.

But if it did meta would go ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ for a lot of underperforming mechs.

Oh yah, and those, though as experimental weapons that have a dubious place in the energy group, I find this highly unlikely.

would x-pulse, if included, be more comparable to clan pulse laser ranges?

The Large X-Pulse and Medium X-Pulse have the range of their standard counterparts. The Small X-Pulse shares range with the ER Small Laser.

EDIT: That's TT stats, though. Unlike tonnage and crits, it's probably subject to change.

This mech and the majority of its hard point load out reminds me of the Huggin Raven. Mind you no MGs but I see a lot of people using the JJ and 4x 4SRM packs to splat their way to victory. Then on top of that there is an ECM version with no JJ but still ECM. SO basically a 5 ton light Huggin/Oxide humanoid mech.

So in my opinion at this time, it will do. I can make it work. It wont be game breaking but it will be trolly. All lrm boats watch out your are prioritized when this mech arrives.

Also for those who think because it is humanoid that it will be horrible well just look at the commando which this is 5 tons heavier.

You just implanted the image in my head of LRM boats making LRM lights out of this thing....

X-Pulse lasers aren't experimental, the Clan ER Pulse lasers were though.

Depends how PGI intends on balancing them. In lore they had the same range profiles as the standard lasers, although that would be such a minor upgrade over the SPL and MPL that they would be barely different.

Here's a laser chart that Yeonne Greene created, he has the best versions of XPLs and Heavy lasers that I've seen on the forums. Posted Image
Edit: Didn't realize SXPLs had ERSL range, thanks Bombast Posted Image

Sarna.net said:

X-Pulse Lasers were an attempt, started in 3055, by Federated Commonwealth technicians to increase the range of pulse lasers The research endeavor was hampered by the FedCom Civil War, though prototypes existed at the time that had fired faster and with more power than current Inner Sphere pulse lasers. By the time of the Jihad, X-Pulse Lasers were undergoing pre-production testing and presumably fell into the hands of the Word of Blake. By 3075, the technology had not yet been made widely available but had started to hit the markets by 3078.

If you have a better source, I'd love to see it though. I've seen charts that say it's experimental, and some that don't.

well that is not what I said, but if you want i guess you could make a lrm mech out of it. It would work similar to the Jenner IIC with missiles. Lrms instead of SRMs kinda like a Catapult A1 but a light mech.

The Spider 5V, still stuck with two (2) energy hardpoints. That is it.

Lets not talk about the Anansi.

Would you like to buy a Javelin?

Although this has Vindicator written all over it I'm back to spending money on this game so bought.

Besides, it is the the Javelin. The first mech I ever played in TT.
