I know it's not what you said, but talking about a 30 ton mech that can only mount missiles at spider speeds makes some players oogle at wanting to make it a lrm mech.

Just look at the oxide. Some people to this day still make it a lrm boat. Same for Huggin.... in fact, I've actually seen a 2x LRM 15 Huggin before. Least to say.... it was quite unusual.

Maybe i was not clear,... I basically was saying, those 4 mech packs that are coming. They take a while to make so i figured they would all have the new tech. The mechs before would not. that is all.. maybe i am wrong

Depends on when they want to add the new weapons in and if they want to delay it like they sometimes do with bigger projects. Incursion was a example of being delayed back in 2016 winter.

I don't understand the people sh*tting on this 'Mechs performance.

The JVN-10P can run 6x SRM2 at 148 kph with 500 rounds of ammo and at least 1x JJ. Because all of those SRMs are in the torso. That's not trash-tier, that's extremely competent. It will eat SPL Lights alive and have enough ammo to also attack multiple bigger targets from the front...unlike certain bug-themed 20 tonners.

The JVN-11A can do 5x MPL easily.

The Hero can do 4x SRM2 2x SRM4 + 350 rounds and 4x SPL. Also not trash.

All PGI really has to do is make this thing not-huge, and it's already in the running for "best IS Light."

Is it a typo or are PGI going to cap the max engines for all but the 1st two variants? I know PGI does this with certain variants (Marauder BH2), but don't they also lower the engine that the mech starts with as well?

I mean, it isn't mine either (actually have zero nostalgia, but I do have 'Mechs I'd rather have...like the Raptor), but that's no reason to spread FUD about what this machine will do. There isn't another IS Light that can mount 6xM or 4xM+4xE and that's huge.

They actually buffed the engine cap on those variants that go up to a 285; the formula PGI uses to determine engine can (for Lights, 1.4x the stock engine) means they should all be 255. That said, 255 isn't slow, that's 148 kph. The 285 makes it run 165 kph, and that's Locust/Spider speeds.

They've increased the caps on the first two variants due to low hard point counts. A fairly rare balancing mechanism, but not unheard of...

I think, anyway. I actually can't recall another mech that does that.

Y'know, I never actually thought about this before, but why is it that when it shows the max amount of JJ's for a mech, it doesn't show its max jump height on the store page? That's actually really important information.

For me, again, am split because I'm usually not a huge fan of running IS mechs much unless I can STD in them or they have the hitboxes that aren't that bad, and the pricing is a bit different this time.

I'm probably going to do some theorycrafing with smurfy and awemech later and see how, and what else I can do with it aside from what has already been said.

I can totally see this light chassis fillign these roles:

Light Brawler with SRMs and or pulse and SRMs.
Light LRM mech with LRMS (of course).
and
Light Narc ... figure the mechs with energy hard points if people want cbills will put on a narc and mark targets all match for the cash.

I wouldn't call it rare...the resistance mechs have a few instances of these. That said, hardpoint counts aren't always a sign of something that needs balancing like that.
