I'm no coder, but it seems simple enough to implement. Have 5 loadouts for each mech, numbered buttons maybe, in the mechlab. Mechwarriors can build and save each loadout to their liking.
For example, say I build a phract out with AC/20 and 4 ML. After I finish one battle, I feel like switching it up to dual UAC/5 4ML. Instead of stripping my engine, AC/20 and ammo and adding what I want in, I simply select the #2 loadout button and if my inventory of equipment has the weapons, ammo, and equipment needed, it automatically removes any equipment not in the saved loadout and slots in everything you've saved previously for your UAC/5 build.
It probably saves a negligible amount of time and mouse clicks, but if you look at many other shooters and games of this type, such as Planetside 2, they have the same system of numbered character/vehicle builds.
Thoughts?
