It gets repetitive after time, but is still fun.

Yeah I have fun. As long as I stick to only 2-5 games played maybe 4 times a week or so. Too much and the various issues I dislike about the game start over-riding my fun factor.

Oh, I'm having plenty of fun. But I could be having A LOT MORE FUN if Clan Diamond Shark was ingame.

No Diamond sharks for you.
But here's a sock puppet.

You just reminded me of a shark plush I had as a child that I loved dearly. I need to go find that thing again. I think it was a catshark. Thanks.

Am I still having fun?

Yes... Every time I drop. That said, I'm finding my urge to drop diminishing slightly.

It's attributed to redundancy and soulless play.

But it's still "fun". Posted Image

Yes - I enjoy this game. Or I wouldn't play - my gaming is for entertainment.

I am having fun. Much of it.
When I have time to play, that is. But seeing that I am enjoying using AC/2s and LRMs, my opinion might not count as "normal."

i have fun, my trick is to take periodic breaks, come back in play a few favorite mechs to get the blood going then grind a mech or two.

and if i start to feel burn out setting in, i jump to a different game.

I find this keeps the game more fun for me, and lessens the pain of its glaring shortcomings.

the key is being not totally vested into this game. keep the game play light, have fun, and bail when your fun diminishes.

I haven't been having much fun. I put enough games in per season to stay current, but that's about it. Maybe when Summer rolls around with all the new toys I'll be more interested in playing, but that depends on the scope of additions and PGI's specific implementation of them. If we get a level of incompetence that results in crap like isERML that are 5 heat and 1.00+ seconds long on the burn, I will be thoroughly underwhelmed.

This game needs to be made fun even when losing. You can't do that with simple mechanics QP deathmatch that just repeats itself over and over and over. If different aspects of the game were challenging and engaging, then it would be more interesting and fun, even when losing. But now, with point and click adventures (just mash E and click your mouse on the red dorito blob), there's no reward other than the game's result (win or loss, with some in-game currency attached). That gets real old, real quick. I don't know how I played this game regularly for as long as I did, but now even I (obsessive personality that I have) have become bored of it, because it's just not interesting enough.

Game mechanics need to change, become more complex, and the game needs to become more immersive.

I'm having lots of fun. Except when people pick Polar Highlands and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it. I JUST WANT A DAMN GOOD BRAWL AND I'M SATISFIED.

Have to agree with bandit there. After a year, you're likely more than rusty with meta play and mechanics changes. And of course, MM might have some part to play in this

With an average match score of 162 across 80 matches played, I'm just going to say you might be the common denominator in those losses. :P

I still have fun because there's always mechs I want to try. Also I want makeover my mechs into beautiful killing machines.

I am. I love the salty tears of T5 LRM boats, blaming their team for not holding locks for them. When I see mechs that only bring LRMs I revel in the moment where I get within their minimum range and proceed to rip them a new one. Also if I'm playing to win I pack in 3 Overload AMS. So yeah MUHAHAHAHA!!!

I was bombarded with LRMs when I just started playing, it was one of the worst lurmageddons since LRMs just got buffed.... T_T
I swore to do everything I can to spite enemy LRM boats in any way I can.

I left for several months and when I got back, my first game got me over 700 damage. Then a few good games followed by a terrible slump. Then got back into my feet again, but after that, I haven't played the game for several days (bad lag) in favor of other games which had more noteworthy events.

Things I learned:

The Night Gyr isn't working well for me. Which is a profound disappointment.
Better results with the Linebacker.
Seems to be doing better with my old mechs (Hellbringer, Cauldron Born, Stormcrow).
IS assaults are now pretty bad for me. It just seems to me I am not doing well with any tall humanoid walker, including Black Knight. May still explore to see how the Cyclops will do.
Seems to do best with energy weapons now. Ballistics are a flop for me.

Things still learning:
Wondering about shifting to LRMs as a support player. I managed one satisfying game with the Archer.
Wondering about shifting to ER PPCs. Maybe it will have better hit registration.

Game seems more focused on agility and speed for survival.

Losing streaks? Generally I find threads complaining about losing streaks to be rare on these forums. Try the World of Warships forums --- there is plenty there. Not only that, but I have seen good players suddenly facing bad losing streaks, like going from a good day one day to an excruciating day of losing streaks. It is believed what Wargaming has a MM algorithm that takes winning players to start culling their winning rate --- so all players must gravitate towards 50% win rate. Losing players on the other hand are going to get the winning players to carry them (usually the ones targeted for win rate culling), so they have to gravitate towards 50%.

What prevents me from having fun is the whole progression systems.
The god damn rule-of-3 is so bloody annoying, i actually can't buy mechs because of that.
I HATE grinding. It just pisses me the hell off.

The upcoming skill-tree system won't probably fix it either...
If anything, it's probably going to be even worse, in terms of grinding.

Yes this happens and you're not the only one who's experiencing this.
The most frustrating thing is to always see the good players on the enemy team while you end up with...yeah, nvm.
Are you playing solo or group queue? Solo queue feels more balanced to me usually.

Just take a break and try the next day, or get some friends to play with.
Losing streaks are never funny, but sharing the pain and frustration helps Posted Image
