Oh yea, fun everytime I launch MWO.
You too could be having fun every day if you didn't quit playing for so long, get rusty, be out of the loop on changes, and then complain your not winning after a year break.

I knew that the kinds of tourists who liked the Mechwarrior games enough to play them, but not enough to have actually looked into the rest of the franchise that existed well before, during, and after the ten-year gap between it and MWO, were going to end up being the market with the strongest voices.
Honestly, the most fun part about this game is painting my dudes. The rest... Ehh. It's more fun to boot up MW2 Mercs in Dosbox, even if I've played the same game a thousand times over, it's no more stale than the gameplay in MWO.

I recommend you to install a much better game, called FW-scouting.
Grab 3 friends. Yup, 3 friend is all you need.
Jump in a medium (yup, just light and mediums) and have fun, knowing everything you do has a part in the outcome of the fight.
At least, if you keep loosing, all you can blame is just your lance performance.

After a year break, his wonderful and enlightening posts yesterday/today, and the thrilling PM, you really think he has any in the first place?
Nobody wants to drop with a potato, social or mech. He painted the potato tag on himself in bright neon colors.

It all felt a bit "samey" to me.
I still read the forums to see whats happening, but I doubt I'll start playing again until some significant new features, modes, maps etc that appeal to me are added.

My fault.
I just read the op and reply.
Now i read all the topic, and i realized i should save my opinion for someone that cares.
This guy is bad at game (not a problem) and has a really rude attitude (very serious problem).
I'll pass.

Bah,
There are a few folks in every community who believe it is their duty to make life miserable for others and even themselves. Those folks are a pretty rare around here and most are at least entertaining. I for one think this community is pretty great. Check the new player help section, the strategy and battlemech sections, the academy section, etc. All sorts of folks including some who might seem "toxic" in other channels are the epitome of instructional, helpful assets to noobs and experienced players alike. Also, keep in mind that these forums...at least the general discussion...is a catch-all of everything from venting about balance and PGI, to discussions of the most obscure lore of BT/MW, to the utter drivel of humble bragging e-peen posts.
Frankly, other than the mech porn, this community is the best part of this game.

Yea, if your trying to get us to feel sorry for the OP, not going to work.
He lost that 'fight' with his third post after being gone for a year.
MWO is better off without him.

I will answer the topic question as yes.
In quick play when you duel an equal opponent, that energy, the synergy, and respect, whether win lose or tie. It is in those rare close games that moments are formed and you remember why you love MWO so much.

Later that night, I tried my luck in FW, and got rofl-stomped to hell.. it's incredible that WHENEVER I solo it in FW, there's always an organized team on the other side, clan or IS regardless..
The game has gotten so frustrating at times that I was ready to cry hacks.. I look at an enemy mech.. and poof.. half mech missing, I return fire - woops, I'm dead.. drop another..
TTK was ridiculously low for my enemies and stupendously long for me somehow..
I would cry hacks, but it was in three consecutive matches.. after witch, I was ready to throw my keyboard through the window..
So you tell me If I'm having fun?

Of course now having the leaderboards we can all check to see just how well one is doing. For comparison's sake, I believe I'm average at best at this game and my current average match score for season 8 is 260, and had an average of 255 in season 7 (365 games played). You're currently at 156 for season 8 and 162 for season 7. Take it for what it's worth...

CW is simply not designed for solo players. One should either join an active unit, or get used to being stomped. I used to get stomped a lot in my early solo days of CW. Then I joined a few Marik units and learned to call drops and lead pug teams. However, that still wasn't enough, as the units I joined were not big enough to have frequent large pre-made drops. A few months ago I joined (MS), and I am having a heck of a good time, in CW and in group play, as its unit members are large and active. I will never drop solo in CW again.
