Is Anyone Even Having Fun Playing This Game Anymore?

Took close to two months off, rarely play more than four games win or lose, and have more fun than when I bought every mech pack.
I'm also playing better than I have in ages

FFA would be fun, but only for a short while. I am convinced that if you want to make the game more accessible and fun for everyone, you have to divorce fun from winning.
I was there from day one. hint: only half the people in any one match get to "win" so why get fixated on it?
Now it is a lot of fun when you are the last mech on your team, and you just keep swinging and take out their last 4 mechs. (yep, had it happen in CB running my pretty baby. I had people on the other team cheering me on becuase... pretty baby.) But I've also had plenty of fun in matches that seemed one sided on the end screen, but all the survivors are chiming in going "one more hit and I was a goner". So winning, while nice, has never been the goal for me. Just having fun. I also once ran a Spiver 5v with 12 jump jets on old Forrest Colony and did this big jump to get on top of the spire.... "someone on the other team types in "PULL!!!!" and I was near instantly obliterated. But I was laughing the entire time. I was way up there.
For me . the game just got stale. All the modes feel the same. All the mechs feel the same (and I have a crap load... 250 or something ridiculous like that).
To me the challenge was always trying to do well with "inferior" builds. I mastered my Urbies in stock config for pete's sake. No one who NEEDS to win does that. lol

As for the losses, it goes both ways. I have had long winning streaks and long losing streaks, and everything in between. So goes the life of a PUGer.

That may work for 14 year olds and those who still think like one but in general the game is pretty dead. I liked it when you had to think and there was room to try new things or tactics. That's all gone. Just twitch mwo exists now.

One of them is total wrong mech for a map, something you cannot just fix in *advance*..like you in lrm mech and get HPG or you in a cloe range brawler and land on Polar....
I guessthat wasalready suggested but why they dont make Mechdecks (smilar the ones you have in Faction or Wa Thunder) also for random fight where you can put 3 or 4 mechs (same class so all mediums, heavys etc to avoid issues with lance selection from mm) with different equipment and after you ee what for map you get you pick the mechs that is the bst one for that map?
no gamebreak, no technical challenge (as said drop decks already here in Faction) and 100% more fun.......dont get it....

Yep. Before December 1-2 month I started to play with Atlas. I was getting feel how it should play. I was proud that I reached the same score as Kodiak SB in brawler role.
Than happened. Around December Marauder 2 was introduced, MM was changed (according to another forum, they enabled playing T5 with T1) and my scores with Atlas felt down. 1.3 to 0.8 (win/rate and kills/death I know it is not brilliant but I have only low specs laptop, it is difficult to play with low fps.) I had similar bad series, after 10 lost games , 1 winner game and 10 losing games again in row...
Finally I bought a Pretty Baby and I did 2.5 ratio kills/death and 1.5 win/lose and I was getting fun again but yes.. It happend with me also.

That explains a lot I dragged myself through T3 which was a pain, in my opinion the worst tier. I thought everything will be better when you reach T2, coordinated matches, good firefights. It seems when RNG or it seems to be called MM here,is against your mech, you end up with a lot of new players against a T1/T2 or mainly some of both and some lower tiers.
I lost a lot of matches today(more than 11 in a row) and as much as I am self critical I do not believe that my Hunchback is the reason for it. Get your **** togther PGI.

Because it is not easy.
It is rather hard. Even the best of the best will loose matches in the PUG que often, and often in waves. Not uncommon to loose 6 in a row, or win 6 in a row. I know my skill has swayed many a match that a lesser pilot could not have, and I know my skill can not sway a match that even the best overall best ever player could. Some losses are ordained....
Its the nature of 12-12, so.. I enjoi doing my best, playing my best, and having fun win or loss.
If your enjoiment is tied to wins only, this game will never be for you. Ever. No one can win 75% of their games in the PUG que on regular basis, year over year. Yes, you can go 4,5,6 KDK. But that is a different topic.
Fun is what you enjoi. Not having fun? Do not play.

About a month ago I thought I was getting burned out so I stopped using my usual mechs.
Went outside my comfort zone and started using ones I am completely unfamiliar with. Also started doing play styles that I thought didn't match me but finding out they can be fun as well.
So if you are not having fun I recommend trying a different sized chassis than what you normally use, a completely different tech tree than you are used to, and try a play-style outside what you normally do.
Been using Inner Sphere assault mechs all week and they are a lot of fun

But i play mainly for the occasional close GG, where a few duke it out in the end game, especially those games where you make a great comeback and pull out a win against all odds.
