Played domination on alpine earlier. My whole team sat out of the circle spammong lrm's and poking barely in range with their lrg lasers. Told them to get on the circle. They literally told me no. Thats not a good idea because they're long range built... of course we lost 49 seconds later as the opfor took the objective uncontested.

In matches where the team doesn't want to get in the circle and either I'm in or wanting to go in - I walk out or don't go in. I'd rather take that loss in less time than trying to fight. Also being on a team that bad I will then make it a goal to live through the loss. Just not worth it.

When I play... and yes, its been about 6 months now since I've logged in, but when I play, I already drop exclusively in solo QP because of people with your exact attitude. I refuse to drop CW, not because I can't, but to deny you a solo filler and extend your queue times as much as possible.

If you got your wish and they removed solos from CW, your queue time would go up and smaller groups would stop playing and before long it would become the 12man queue all over again. Have fun.

So, you do not play CW just to make the game mode miserable for EVERYONE else that plays CW.

Your motivation is to cause bad game experiences for everyone.

Your an ^@@(&$# and your really &#($($ up to have such motivation.

Glad you don't play.

A lot of people don't play CW because of your ilk and the atmosphere you created. I know you don't get that. But its funny to see you miss the point.

The approach I strive for is "Oh well, not a good match, no biggie, start another".

It doesn't always work, but it's what I aim for.

Technically you can shoot someone inside the circle and it stops the countdown for a few seconds, a lot of peeps dont know that.

But I know how you feel and have seen that and more.

What atmosphere that he and his ilk created? A competitive environment where only the best players running the best mechs consistently win? Is that the atmosphere you're asking about? PGI created the game mode and the conditions in which it is played. Some folks play it as a team and they play to win...as PGI intended. There is nothing wrong with that nor should there be. The only issue with his "ilk" is that because of poor game design soon (as with every other previous iteration of CW) they will have no one to play with because of the way the mode is set up but his "ilk" didn't create that. PGI did.

Play the game, play the mode...or don't; but don't blame ANY members of the community for the "atmosphere". If they are breaking a rule, feel free to report them, but otherwise tough cookies.

Don't know were you have been but his gang promised to synch drop and destroy solo when PGI said they were putting it in. They near succeeded at one point. That's one though I can create a bit of a list but that should give you an idea.
They seem to think that their way is the only way to play within the confines of the rules of the game. That would be true if people were banned for all the things they gripe about but they are not.

What is it when one class of people decide they know better than any other class? It is a game after all not 1930's Italy.

Yes. Exactly. This game is just like fascist Italy. Geezus.

As to your seemingly non-insane complaints:
Why would these folks need to sync drop in CW? Forming a 12 man to go stomping is easy enough. If they were sync dropping in QP then you should have reported them for violation of the COC. If you did, and PGI was unmoved, then again tough cookies. Its PGI's decision.

As to the assertion that "they seem to think their way is the only way to play..." so what? Ignore them and play the game your way...within the rules and social norms and expectations of the game/mode; namely by playing as part of a team, and playing to win. Why is that so hard? Its okay to disagree with their decisions, their way of approaching a tactical situation, etc. but if you don't want to play as a member of a team, then maybe a team based game is not a good fit for you.

Meh. Do as you will. Hold a grudge against others and the way they play, accuse them of being fascists, whatever trips your trigger. Those that you're complaining about won't be bothered at all. Just do keep in mind that this is the community who is playing the game and if you alienate enough of it then folks won't be willing to play it "your way" either.

Key point should be "play the game", specially in Muds case.

You do need to understand one thing... It's a game.

There seems to be this mental condition people fall into where they imagine they actually have skin in the game and its life or death for them. That's how a tryhard is born. Soon after you see anyone who doesn't think like you as a potato.

The truth is the tryhards are the potatos stuck in some alternate reality where this stuff actually matters. It doesn't its a game.

No one cares about your tier but other tryhards. No one cares about the leaderboards but other tryhards. Were having fun instead.

This speech should be on a screen, just before the blue one that talks about "high level endgame" when you go into FP.

Awesome comment, and so true. I see many people on these forums that seem trapped in this alternate reality where they are a real MechWarrior and its cool to try and act like a tough guy, dropping edgy comments about "potatoes" or "bads".

Then a lot of these same people have the nerve to blame the very people they ridicule, for not wanting to group with them or listen to anything they say. Its laughable.

The middle aged BattleTech "tryhard" nerds in this game, that always seem to be comprised of people from established units, are the most toxic thing in the community. They just can't see it because all of their kind are on the forums backslapping each other for every derogatory comment, thinking that new and inexperienced players need them, more then they need the new players.

Its like they are somehow under the impression that because a dozen of them say stuff on the forums and agree with each other, there must be lots of people that feel the same, like any good forum warrior clique.

Faction play and quickplay numbers beg to differ though. Its just sad. If i was a new player, i literally cannot fathom any reason why i would keep playing this game. The simple fact is this. FP matchmaking, does not have the active numbers to sustain large premade groups, and grow at the same time. Its one or the other, at least until the FP population increases. People have to think about what they would prefer, how it is now, or more players, more learning and more opportunities to form new groups and units.

People have tried, without success, for YEARS now, to encourage more unit play and premades. It hasn't worked. Maybe if the newer population were given more chance to think about these kinds of steps, before being stomped into oblivion, it would gain more traction. Very few people are going to start playing the game, and go straight into looking for a unit.

Lul.

Johnny reminds the PW of his alt account and the first thing he does is derailing a thread with a classical, incoherent "oh moi gawd mommy them is doing synchdrops" rant.

Priceless.

Yes, For a few years now I suggested progression similar to pro sports. From little leauge through pros. PGI tried it with tiers but failed miserably in a large part to the people we speak of. For about a week after tiers came into being the gameplay was awesome and you were matched with like players. I read the threads in a few faction sites and found that the push was on to create alts. They were clear it was to tear up new players to finance that alt for future play.
When solo came into being the same people acted on the threat to synch into solo. For months they would come here and say it was impossible yet for a full month several of us did just that. We would come into a match and announce what we did then play normally. Wow was the hate strong after that. You can find the threads about it here.
Sorry but you do have a class of people that force their vision on the population. They had the knowledge and resources to do it while pugs and casuals had no way to resist. The Mods all part of that same crowd made sure to suppress any and all complaints.
That is facsism in theory. Its how it works in the real world and how it works here. The weak all piled in because its easier to go along to get along. Its how it always goes.

That they deny it is the funny part because we see parallels in real life. The center no matter how strong can never hold.

In this case they will just sink the game over time. Killing the population one new player at a time. The effects of that can be seen with the skewed match maker and threads where new players say they are coming up against 1s and 2s.
The same people deny just like they always have. Just like Crue above. He plays his role wonderfully as the careful centrist but a few sentences in you can see who he is supporting.

Because some of us know that with some careful consideration every player of every stripe could sit at the table. The game could grow and PGI could profit. As it stands PGI built a FT.Apache so they can exist in a bubble. Only a very small number of players are allowed access and that small number makes sure it stays that way. That is why the game is wash rinse repeat.
