Yeah, that was stupidity on the part of your teammates. Locusts have two really nasty hardcounters, the LB20X, and the Streak launcher. Both of them will absolutely ruin a Locust's day.

That's a technical problem. But of course for you it is a reason to cry "nerf light mechs"...

And this happens often? Weird, I haven't witnessed such a thing. Are you sure that you even hit him and not just spray a laser for a milisecond over his chassis? Speaking of: use pulse lasers or pinpoint damage weapons. And if 3 of you had the time to fire on a locust repeatedly...why did none of your geniuses run over and scare him out of his hiding place so you could take some shots at him while he was running.

they rely too much on your enemy not being situationally aware and being bad shots or there just being too many targets to focus down at once


Every mech should be able to break 300 dmg, heck I broke 900 with my kitfox outfitted with: 3 ams, 4mgs, 2sm pulse, 1 flamer.
yes not breaking 200 dmg is terribad. (to be fair however it could also be a very new player either to the game or the mech and leveling it up)

2. pulse lasers...while this little ****** cuts you down ER L...strangly with pinpoint accuracy just on the center torso

3. its a great idea to scare him out when you go straight into the fire of his waiting teammembers...thumps up, mr. tactical

Btw...even if we had tried that...last time i checked light mechs (especially the lolcust) tend to be faster then heavys or even meds. So if we had magical reached him without dying to the other mechs when we moved to his location ... a little bit zig-zagging and the mighty lagshield and he would have still survived.

Are lights OP? No, LCT can be oneshot by 1 AC20 hit, an enemy that fails to do so deserved to get wrecked by a 20 tonner.

not only those will..a double PPC hit will also ruin their day.

but none of us had a LB20X or double PPCs and like i said..he used L ER..range was >500m...so streaks were out of the game.

I would like to point out that while yes that is not a locust cockpit. The player could have died and been watching the rest of the match from some one else's cockpit. That is why when I play a mech and take screen shots I get not only rewards page but the teams with the scores.

Why do people keep blaming lights for being overpowered? You get merc'd by a light mech if you're team isn't doing its job chasing away the lights from getting at your back. That is the point of a light mech, to be faster and more agile ...role out, do recon, force recon, skirmish tactics, ect...then when the fight starts return to your assault buddy and guard his flank.

All i do is sit behind your fat assault butt and rip your rear armor off. It takes exactly 3 alphas of 6x er small laser to knock out just about all assaults...i think the kodiak being the most stubburn as they appear to be able to turn quickly for an assault. If i see a light or med around, I won't go in there though.

Also, if i notice you have only lasers forget about it i'm killing ya, i'm sure ya'll know, but lasers do almost no damage if you you simply skim over the target, you must lay the laser down and keep it on target, and the same target, not flail it across right left and center torsos.

If i know you have an autocannon, specifically an LBX, yeah eff that, I'll usually stay away from that as one hit from that usually ends off ripping out my arms or legs. Also, srms are pretty horrid to a light mech, get wolloped with a volly of that and usually its enough to take you down to core. I'm not sure why they keep hitting me with that crap though, i'm pretty sure i'm going pretty fast. I'm guessing the ones that land are streaks? Either that or the other pilot is really good and ***** shooting.

So I dunno why people are mad...seem to me like your light(er) mechs aren't protecting your assaults like they should be. But this is the games fault since you're only rewarded handsomely by damage score, not by hanging back protecting your assault buddy. Which in turn makes the light pilots go out on their own leaving the assaults to fend for themselves.

Its tactics folks, theres nothing to it. There have been many a times I've been completely annihilated by assaults...usually not though its the small guys that run me down that kill me most the time...but again...that goes back to tactics...if your small guy stay near you, you won't have to worry about me killing your fat butt.

That all being said, i have a better score and kill ratio with my timberwolf rockin 4 x srm6 + u-ac20. Both weapons keep the lights away really good lololol.
