Well...the name has a story...and name trolling...really??

Oh...and this isnt a "alt"...its a NEW account because i "lost" the old one(inactive for over 1.5 years)

I can imagine there is a story to it. I mean, already the old Roman knew: nomen est omen. Go figure...

And read what McGral said which absolutely fits the whole picture.

They really need to shrink lights like the FireStarter back down to their previous size, they shouldn't be the size of mediums. They weren't even that hard to hit when they were smaller. Also if someone already said this, TLDR.

I would like to point out that while yes that is not a locust cockpit. The player could have died and been watching the rest of the match from some one else's cockpit. That is why when I play a mech and take screen shots I get not only rewards page but the teams with the scores.

Good point.

Yeah, I always screencap both so it's clear what 'mech I'm in.

As a constant light player, all I can say is that they're fine....

Most of you have been on the wrong end of my weapons and learned the hard way....

The biggest issue with light players is that most people don't know how to play lights. Lights are not meant to go head to head with anything else other than lights. As a light player your job is first and foremost to scout and spot for missiles. After this when things start to intensify your job then shifts to that of supporting your fellow mech by nibbling at any target of opportunity.

Scoring 200 points or less of damage is not a bad thing, so long as your fulfilling the previously mentioned roles.

All in all lights are oppunity players, always looking for the chance to make little contributions to the overall battle.

To expect more from them is silly....

You miss several points.

Lights are simply narrowed into harassers or second-rate snipers already simply because of bloated agility quirks on heavies and assaults and the re-sizing. And if you have bad luck one mistake gets you crippled or killed.

And what you write is nothing new. The guys who still play lights know that. However, you forget the following:
You also have to bear the other mech classes in mind. Currently fast mediums do everything most lights do but better while giving up 10-20 km/h. Heck, they have even better agility quirks. Adding shame to injury, many of the 35t mechs rival in size mechs of the 50-55t class making them comparable hard to hit.

Actually heavies and assaults should lose a great deal of their agility quirks to make the sacrifice lights make (range, heat disipation, firepower, armour, structure) finally worth something. However, it will get even worse. I can't wait when the new skill tree floods even more agility boni into the game and slaps them on heavies and assaults, too. Then we are stuck completely in peek-a-boo warrior because a light mech will never ever stay out of the enemy firing arcs - which he hardly does even now (at least in T1 dunno which tier you are).

So, no: lights are not "ok"

Funny, mine hasn't and I usually spend the first half of the game doing exactly what I've mentioned. My average game damage is usually between 300 - 500, with 2 kills, and I'm playing a Mech not favoured as one of the metas ( e.g. Oxide, Cheetah )

You play a mech smart and you'll do fine.

-Poorly disguised humblebrag masquerading as a semi relevant issue.
-Liberal use of PUG match screenshots as evidence
-Most opposing light mech players are tagless
-"Light mechs op" is a dated and rarely used forum phrase in today's forums.

3.5/10

Correct me if I am mistaken but the vast majority of the MWO matches are QP matches. Therefore it would make sense to get that right balance-wise

Lights are not OP. Fighting against bad pilots is OP.

Had another potato spec game a few nights ago. Canyon Network, domination. I took out a Mad Dog, Raven, Warhammer and Timberwolf, each one killed by hitting square in the rear CT and nothing else. Two of those (the Mad Dog and the Warhammer) even turned around, saw me, chased me for all of about 6 seconds, then turned around...only for me to shoot them square in the back again and seal the kill.

What's going on with this game?

Is Mechwarrior inherently too complicated for your average FPS PUG? In dumbing it down, have PGI created a game that is somehow too simple / fast for detailed tactics and patience, but too complicated for yolofuntime pugsters?

Potato players need a nerf and general intelligence needs a buff.

The vents are open. Today I had T4 players in my match which shouldn't be possible. Which means the playerbase has reached a critical mass

Is MWO complicated? Yes, yes it is. However the learning curve can be overcame by simply doing your research. Something gamers refuse to do these days.

That's my point.

The entry level is low enough for MWO to be a casual game, but it's still complicated enough that those minimal effort pug players (that the game was deliberately dumbed down to accommodate for and try to appeal towards) have a bad time and upset the balance for other players.

That vid is from 2014, back when locust was the worst mech in the game. I just found it rather apropos for todays light climate.

Anybody with an excel spreadsheet can easily see by looking at averages that lights are far and away the most OP class in the entire game, bar none.

It's not fair, nor balanced, that a jenner can run circles around a dire wolf and win 10/10 times.

Anybody that can't see that lights are extremely OP in this game needs to git gud and is probably an Idaho Potato.

Oh, yea. Lights are SOOOOOO OP and it shows.

ooo but still. LOL it would be cool.

i think are people are mad that me and my rookie pilots are doing stuff like this.

https://youtu.be/t6CJfTt9Hng

i mean yeah it hurts when a group of light mechs , Kill good players :-p

look everyone reading this, its not the mech, its the pilot. if light mechs are hurting you to much,

then you need to re-think your gaming style. maybe become the light mech pilot???

But, if you go down that path, don't be to crazy and go max everything speed. dude. REALLY~~~!!(O.o)

start slow, work your way up. like working out. you lift light and work your way up. not go after the 600LB

squat or bench press on your first day, just because your thinking and logic sound good in your head.(O.O) , dude just be real with yourself.

ask the better pilots, what they do to handle light mechs, it doesn't hurt right? and if you don't ask how will you ever know ???????????????????????

then you can't be mad at your self or someone else for not knowing.

Because, you only know one way, but you forget there are 10 ways to skin this cat right? 10 being the worst , 1 being the best. but in the end they all get the same results. now , which step are you going to take????

10 worst 9bad 8takes to long 7 it worked 6ok 5decent 4not bad Obama 3damn 2that was impressive my man 1 best OMG PRO DAMN SHT?????????

here are a few people you could ask if you need some guidance

https://www.facebook.com/th3b33f/

https://www.facebook...ef=ts&ref=br_tf

http://bmmu.gamerz.co/

http://www.emp-gaming.org/

and of course any one from

EON, 54MR, Kcom, Evil,

just to name a few.

https://youtu.be/KMjdzIWQgi8

^ tell me if those mech i was doing the loop de loop with were doing the smart thing by not killing me and standing around knowing there is a locust running around the first 1 time it showed up popping backs it was easy so of course it will most defensively come back for more :-p. and blackjack why would you rush like that and not watch your back :-[p

re: that ach-prime(c) is elite'd and has er-small laser and heat reduction full buffs.
So I did pay real money for that mech, and it was certainly very much worth it.
Though I have a worse kill/was-killed ratio in this chassis than i do in my slow *** Shadow-hawk, for which I'm almost at a 2-to-1 kill to was-killed ratio.

I find myself running the shadow hawk more as I get killed a lot in the cheetah due to focus fire. In a med mech however, everyone is more worried about heavies and assaults and more scare of them than me in an unexpectedly high damage, but slow, medium.

TBH ya'll who are complaining just suck and don't' play as a team, team work is how to win, push when people push and don't back up...especially you hooligans running big tanky assaults. Ramming speed people! You're in an assault! Dont' sit behind everyone and hang back, attack!

If you want to snipe, pick a smaller med-heavy and put dual or trip or if heavy/assault do quad, or hex ppcs, gauss, or ac2/5.
