Whereas some of the other mechs have at least a unique hardpoint layout going for them, the SIB has nothing special that I could have any use for compared to the other bad Vindicator robots. They look pretty cool, but Vindicators are probably the worst mech in the game, and the SIB is possibly the worst of the variants.

Hardpoint starved. Lasers are light but it can't take any. So that leaves heavier missles/ballistics. Even with the ideal srm/machine gun combo it's hard to get JJ+good speed (which is exactly what it needs).
Used to be exciting with the proper cooldown quirks but now it's very hard to work with.

Grid Iron, not the worst. Was loved for Gauss, less so today. Can also do the AC20 build of the 4G. Is a poor sub for the 4N.
Roc, don't have one but from the looks of it, it comes in second tieing with the Wang.
Wolverine-7D(L), not the worst and not a Hero Mech.
Fang / Flame, when last discussed one is considered worse than the other but neither is the worst.
Yen-lo-Wang, limited in doing only 2 things but more than the worst, just have to know how to use it.
Anansi, not the worst, hybrid of the 5V and 5K, MGs got buffed and it has a Missile for SRM or NAR in PUGs.
Huginn, not the worst, SRMs may not be what they were but MGs got buffed.
Dragon Slayer, not the worst. Despite the long ago nerfs, it still benefits over other Victors from the torso mounted Energy.
Winner of the Worst - St. Ives Blues
Only build I can make work is a MPL + SRM brawler, when that is your best build on a XL Medium, you know it is the worst. Has no PPC benefits, one of two Vindicators that cannot PPC the other being the 1X.

Wait... what?
Just what? Did you just say LCT-1E is worse than Anansi?
.....
..
Do you happen to watch some competitive matches? You know, when a team brings Locust, it is either LCT-1E or 3M.
Yeah, 1V is awesome with that quirk and LPL, but it just does not deliver enough alpha strike like 1E and 3M can (and they have better max dps with small pulse lasers.)
Personally I like 3S. With four SRM2, it is a great potato harvester.
You missed my 2nd sentence, I was talking about it's quirks.
In term of hardpoints the 1E is the better of the locusts, in term of quirks all the the other standard locusts are better.

I... Wait... What?!
300XL, AC20, 2*MPL, 4 tons ammo, go to town. How anyone can say a mech that does over 100 kph and carries an AC20 is bad is beyond me. It's one of the better striker/skirmishes mechs in the game.

They should have set the Mech up to have either the left side or the right side to be
The weapon arm
That would allow you to last a little longer
Also 4 tons or 28 rounds of ammo does not seem to be enough

As a pilot you need to be aware of that and "twist" to shield your weapon when you anticipate incoming fire.
Besides this isn't a Centurion exclusive thing, that type of configuration is prevalent across a lot of IS chassis in general (especially Mediums).
Actually, a lot of mechs are set up to "sword-and-board" as it is. To maximize firepower all main weapons are moved to one location, and if that location goes, then your mech has lost serious firepower or has none.
Maybe it just feels worse on a Centurion because it is a Medium and not as durable as a Heavy or Assault, but really, this isn't anything that many mechs need to deal with.
Also, as a side note (pertaining to the YLW), you can run more than 4 tons of ammo. I can at least fit 5 tons with MLasers and an XL300. I could make MPLasers work as well with a slightly downgraded engine and 4.5 tons of ammo.
Don't let the old stigma about the Centurions get to you, they run XLs perfectly fine.

The Vindicator hero is a trash variant of a trash mech, although I still give the most points to Pretty Baby and La Malinche because of their staggering failure to do anything useful with all that tonnage and their high price to achieve "pay to lose."
