I'm guessing some heat quirks will be implemented to make this mech cooler ;-)
It says on sarna that it can fire 3 full loadouts (6 x CERLL's) before overheating.. so go figure..

The MW3 Supernova detonated if you tried to alpha strike it.
In tabletop, 26 double heat sinks would allow it to mitigate 52 heat. The 6xERLL at 12 heat each generate 72 heat, putting the Supernova on a minimum of 20.
http://www.sarna.net...eat_Point_Table
So 50/50 to have shut down plus other problems. If it alpha'd a second time, it would generate 72 heat, sink 52 and be at 40 heat which is far beyond automatic shutdown. That second salvo also won't be able to hit jack due to the heat penalty on to-hit.
You could sort of use it as a turret that fires twice, rests once and then fires twice again but since hitting shutdown 'Mechs is easy...

I think it was asked elsewhere...who was really clamoring for the SNV?
I'm not against the Supernova, I just...don't get why they would release it two months after the MAD-IIC.
December: Release an 85-ton energy-boat Clan Battlemech.
January: IS Medium
February: Release a 90-ton energy-boat Clan Battlemech that is slower than the one released in December.
Maybe if it was in April or August I could see the logic. At least then its mediocrity compared to the MAD-IIC wouldn't be as glaring. It would still be "meh, a bigger, slower MAD-IIC" but it would give people time to get bored with their Marauders.

Love the "kill me now" overheat lights that are on it when it's overheating....
Also when that first started was that inside the cockpit? If so, did you just skip a head a couple of days on the countdown?

Yea, you'll see it more clearly in the countdown though.

It's too bad that you are advertising a product like that.
That would be like showing a Ford F-150 towing an RV that it's beyond it's rated towing capaicty, and that the truck's transmission broke during the photoshoot.

Honestly this is probably the most lore accurate mech we've got.
It's a 90 ton Nova. What happens when you alpha a stock Nova loadout?

Why cooldown and damage? Cooldown especially doesn't make sense given that it's supposed to be used at really long ranges.
Beam duration is the fatal flaw with the weapon that holds it back.

Don't they already do that sometimes? Didn't Toyota have a commercial showing a Tundra towing the space shuttle?
Also I was kind of joking before but you really could just fire 2-2-2 and get that shot without triggering ghost heat.

Yeah buts its hillarious because a ford would break down Found On Road Dead!

Do we really need another Kodiak 3 launch balance debacle? I mean i know you clanners loath balance but there needs to be something lest we call this ClanTech Online.

I'm digging it's look as well, It's collectors is one of the few i'd get based on it's looks.
Since i have a thing for "under dog" mechs i might get the Basic bundle on release.

I'm talking about what it would take for PGI to reduce heat. Right now, I suppose they won't reduce range very much and increasing duration would be pointless. So I'm saying that I would be happy if they nerfed the CERLL in some other way, such as increasing cooldown or reducing damage, just so long as they reduce heat. The CERLL is way too hot now, and it basically makes it a bad idea to use it in combination with most other weapons for most builds.
