How can PGI as the developer think that people who do less than 200 damage in an entire FW game deserve to be in the same game as people doing 1500+ on the loosing side. this is not FUN for either the new players of the veterans.
1. Get rid of trial 'mechs from drop decks
2. remove the ability for people to level 'mechs in FW
New players in FW will cause issues, not only making the new players think this game is bad, as they are getting stomped, which in turn may make them stop playing this game. This also stops the veteran players playing as they don't want to be teamed up with new players.
The above 2 very simple fixes should help the game play for FW.

Don't see much point now though. Faction Play can't really afford to be that picky about who plays it anymore.

1. Say enough's enough and remove FP from the game entirely as it is a development black hole
2. Decide that FP needs to be fixed and start making some hard but very necessary calls on the mode, that will be disliked by many to actually make the mode work.
Without either of the above choices, FP will continue to be bad for all and a total waste of development time.

Thats funny, I have a blast playing it 90% of the time even if i'm going solo. It's QP I can't stand. Each to their own I guess. If your that unhappy with the game, it may be time to move on and find something you enjoy more. It happens and i've had to do that with several games in the past myself. Happy hunting.

This is why I don't play quick play. At least in CW, people try to work together. Honestly, if I couldn't've played CW without having to buy four mechs, I'd've never managed to stick with this game.

HAHAHA
CW is tier 5 hell. Trained monkeys could play better than half the people in CW.

An experienced pilot can still do 1500 in them.
FW gating should be done via a different method, like a certain number of matches.
(and be completely bypassed if in a unit and grouped with that unit)

I don't see removing Trials as all that beneficial as a result; at least when they're solid workhorses you -know- someone's at least getting a mech they can do damage in (whether they will or won't is another story). They still work as quick filler, competent players will still do competently in them. The real issue is a total lack of a matchmaker putting folks woefully inexperienced against folks vastly more (you could sheer off 40 tons and they'd still get stomped by the under tonned team)... I'm just not holding my breath on that ever changing. Trials won't ever change that appreciably. People will still bring god awful loadouts regardless. You'll still get Founders that can't crack 800 damage with 4 mechs on a good day -without- heavy team competition for damage. Trials are pretty irrelevant.
You know, because, End Game Content or some other such piss poor lazy rational to keep the meat grinder in place with a consistent lack of player retention, ongoing complaints and experienced user burnout. Did I say End Game Content? Yes, cuz End Game Content. Even gating via number of matches will still leave you with much the same problems, though perhaps in smaller amounts. Given how thoroughly the mode has been stomped into the ground though, I doubt even gating will muster that much impact.

G'day, I think I can help explain this to you.
This is because new players (we'll call them "green seals") are the only ones stupid or inexperienced enough to enter FW for a clubbing. Unfortunately, these poor, dumb, unfortunate animals cannot afford their own mech's and naturally show up on the beach with borrowed trial mech's. Now with the more experienced players (we'll call these players "seasoned seals"), who have experienced past brutal massacres, it's much, much different. These potential seals are a lot wiser, they've learn't what it's all about. These wiser lone seals avoid the mode like the plague, whatever the version (as it never really changes). They just won't touch FW with a 20 foot pole. If you're a single seal, then keep well clear. Don't go onto the beach alone.
I hope this broadens your understanding of FW.
Many regards,
Vibes

This is kinda correct, but you cant do 1500 dmg in a (C) 'Mech when you are facing the likes of EON/EMP who only do CT dmg.
Currently (C) 'Mechs have the following armour profiles for CT
STK - 92/14
DGN - 90/6
GHR - 71/17
ZEU - 94/6
CRB - 60/4
GRF - 62/10
Stalker is missing 13% armour
Grasshopper is missing 21% armour
Griffin is missing 13% armour
Above worked out using 2 rear armour which is probably still 1 to many

Your joking right? 800dmg!!!!
Ill be lucky to see most people on IS do 500dmg or less using 4 MECHS! Some of us push that constantly in a QP game!!!

Yep. I stopped playing FP a week ago.
I hung in as long as I could, because I want MWO's end game to work.
But there are more and more matches where I and a couple of decent soloists get dropped with complete noobs and then face off against large organised groups who farm the spawn points. It's just not an intelligent way to spend 40 minutes of your life.
PGI need to introduce matchmaking, based on:
- groups matched against each other first (add higher tier soloists to make up the numbers); and
- allocate the rest of the soloists to fight against each other in soloist matches.
This approach would yield far more balanced matches, far fewer stomps, and far less noob-deterring farming.
