Do not ignore the fact that we still had to buy modules in the old system. Sure you could swap them around and reduce the cost through that, but there was still a c-bill cost involved with "maxing" a mech. Since we are getting refunded for those past purchases, the c-bill cost should remain.

Yes, I know all that.

But that is on a completely different point to the one I was making in my post.

Hi Russ, its easy

all Skill who where in the old Skilltree = 0 Cbills.

all Skills who where in Modules = whatever you want to cost em.

This Way New Players can still get resonable Skills while Collecting for new Mechs,

People like me who never where into Modules can still get many Skills to get back to the Preformance as before.

And You Can Drain C-Bills from all who used Modules.

Anybody is happy.

I could get behind this.

Hey guys.

Just wanted to re-iterate that we can't refund many hundreds of billions of cbills back into the economy without a one time initial Cbill cost per node.

Still looking at data to come up with the right number. It's at 45k atm and that works well for most players, but looking to improve edge cases.

Uh, sure you can. It's a game and it's all artificial currency, Russ. The only thing that equates to REAL value is MC. Period.

C-Bills aren't my only concern, XP is as well.

Those who can Math will realize TIME is the concern.

PGI cant Math so good.

C-Bills and XP directly translate to time.

Just gotta say, I hope the c-bill costs go down a little more. As (I guess) an "edge" case module swapper "cheapskate", I have:

Spent $955 US into the game since 2013

Have 278 mechs, 184 of which are module-slot "mastered"

Should be getting 505 million c-bills back from 142 modules, which will enable me to "master" 123 previously-"mastered" mechs

Leaving me about 61 "mastered" mechs short of where I was before - which kinda sucks.

35K c-bills per node would reduce the number of short mechs to 26 and a 82 million c-bill "hole" - but which I could find somewhat acceptable

PS. I'm also currently at 8,598 matches since stat reset, avg 126K c-bills/match

While that is true and all, it's not as though it matters much seeing that those that are heavily invested into the game (like Bayoucowboy) are going to get totally hosed. There's not equivalent return for what has been invested in and that's a straight up rip on the part of PGI. It's disappointing yet not really surprising for Russ to come in, drop one comment, and peace right back out without having addressed a single discussion point based on his post.

That is conduct unbecoming, for sure.

cBills are harder for new players to gather up making the skill tree impossible to fill for anyone new to the game.

The cadet bonus is easily there to provide them with the mech they want but if they're going to be subpar until they max out the skill tree they are going to be fighting a very uphill battle.

No cBill cost or trivial cBill cost would be good.
