I'm sure that if it doesn't release with around 40 extra head armor, the only thing that will be annihilated is its cockpit.

It'll most likely be mostly CT.

It'll need more structure/armor/agility quirks than the Atlas just by design.

The fuss about the cockpit on the anni is ********. PGI probably realizes this and has made the hitbox so tiny that you'd be lucky to hit it if you raked a laser over it.

Yeah... you'll lose your CT or ST from any and all angles before you can return fire.

The pilot is lying on his/her belly in that cockpit.

IMO it's just a taller, lankier king crab. Easy to hit torso but sleeker and taller. Good shield arms though. I think people are blowing things way out of proportion with this thing (like everything.)

It will be great for coming around corners, hills? Eh at least you can scout with that cockpit since it is friggen tiny. Hill humping is only one part of the game, coming around corners and being able to hit things when they are at point blank range are some other parts that you need to worry about. I look at it and see the Cyclops gained 10 tons. Probably about how the hitboxes will go for it anyways. Squishy CT, though rounded shape should help with rolling damage, don't XL or you are worthless. LFE will be a must to get enough firepower, armor, and speed to matter. I mean sure a STD 300 isn't that much weight, but, when you are that slow, you need every ton you can for cooling and guns.

They are releasing mechs with similar sized cockpits. I wish people would stop acting like mechs with a visually large cockpit are somehow going to have some massive cockpit hit box.

Oh, yeah. I'm sure you're right. PGI's all over this. No problem. No problem at all.

And how are other mechs with pronounced cockpit windows faring regarding headshots in MWO? Still happens but not often? Must be an unspoken gentleman's rule about not aiming for cockpits then, and those that do just don't care about playing fair. :P

I'm sure Mr. Giraffe's actual cockpit will be nestled within those side panels so that you have to risk blistering fire from the frontal cone from underneath the head to even try to headshot it.

It's always going to be a tiny segment in an arbitrary location which defines where the actual hitbox is

I would know

Too bad the red eye laser is Lostech™.

Except the neck sticks up pretty high so you'll be able to shoot it even if you're shielding.

yes but this just make sit worse if theres a "CT here" beacon ontop of it. so they would even have to strech ST's up there as well.

It has already received a mighty big agility quirk by a massively raised engine cap (should be 240).

And it is still bad. I cannot believe how this was chosen over a Fafnir.

But, but... it was in MW:4! Everything that was in MW:4 is - by default - totally super mega iconic! Posted Image

And the Anni was in MW3 where it's the first enemy Assault you encountered hence the "more nostalgia" part.

Also, older whales beat younger whales, unless the latter are very "resilient" like a certain person Posted Image

I want the Annihilator really badly but not badly enough to buy 3 site unseen and untested.

Especially not without 30 BANKED days of premium time.
4 AC10s? sounds good but it'll get nerfed with extra ghost heat like the KDK UAC10 build did.

When I played in the pods the my go to mechs were the Annihilator, Atlas and Direwolf. I have 4 Atlas and 5 Direwolves so now all I need is some Annihilators...

I'm well versed in going slow with these mechs.
