And personally I want some of those assaults Posted Image

Why not? Each and everyone of those assaults would be a good choice from a lore point of view - probably because none of them is a MW:4-original. They all have a meaningful part in the FCCW (even if the Sunder's importance is a little lower than that of the other three). As far as their viability in MWO is concerned they all might turn out alright; at least none of them screams 'deathtrap'.

The Argus might be ok, too; I'd give the -6F a try for sure.

The Chimera... no, that's just bad. Hitboxes, hardpoints, variants are all bad. As a dedicated medium driver I struggle to see any positives. The lore is fairly interesting, though.

That all being said, the Phoenix Hawk, Rifleman, Warhammer and Bushwacker have all been exactly as I expected them to be, because I went into them, knowing about their limitations.

Curiously people sometimes underestimate PGI. Often - not always, but often - they design the MWO-role of a Mech closely to it's TT-counterpart. Despite their objective weaknesses and limitations, Phoenix Hawk and Uziel e.g. work best in their intended TT-roles as fast mobile strikers. You have to adapt them to MWO-realities, of course, but I often see people with too slow and immobile, overgunned Phoenix Hawks and Uziels. Those people are obviously better served with Black Jacks and Crabs e.g.

The problem is that people often try to use one and the same template for every Mech instead of trying to figure out it's unique strengths. Don't get me wrong, the Uziel is still horrible either way, but it does have a few strengths and I rarely see people play to them.

This is very true. The Nightstar is another good example. We thought it'd be a strong ranged mech but it's actually better at short to mid range.

Wut.

My best variants operate between 450 and 900 meters.

All I know is, this year I got a feeling might see alot of IS mechs compared to clans.

Omni I could see them doing packs for atleast 2 packs worth. Lots of fun faves still from FCCW era and before (you 3025 guys :P)

Appreciate the effort to keep the poll updated GG.

I reckon we need to push the boundaries a bit.
Break into some new territory that will provide different challenges in the battles.

Elementals.

I can list multiple reasons to add them in as a playable option.

I feel like they'd make a better consumable than a usable player operated item. Otherwise, you have a two shot SRM launcher, an ERSLas, and a MG, a ground speed that can rival an Urbanmech, and virtually no armor.

Elemental dropoff module dispenses a point of 5 elementals in an area, and when an enemy gets close enough they leap out and attack the closest enemy. XD

Are we expecting a new mech to drop on 1/1 or thereabouts? Or did MechCon and the other stuff override a January release?

My prediction for next month:
Dervish or Whitworth (IS medium missile carriers).

Wasp/Stinger are a possibility, but I believe they are Unseen. The Clint, Vulcan, and Hermes have trouble competing with the Assassin.

I don't think anyone announced that the Sun Spider was going to override January's new mech release. Honestly, I hope it isn't another IS medium since it's the single most over crowded mech weight bracket in the game at the moment (correct me if im wrong here but the last time I checked it was).

If the next mech in January is going to be an IS mech, then I hope it's either the Fafnir, Crusader, or Charger. If PGI really wants my money then it should be the Toyama. Posted Image

If I was PGI, I'd split between "New" mechs like the Nightstar, and TRO 3025 'Mechs for assets to use in MW5.

Two reasons against Elementals as a consumable:
1. Consumables such as the Air Strike and Artillery are already a bit of a problem. I can only think that an Elemental 'Booby Trap' would have all sorts of consequences.
2. You can't monitize the consumables. There is no financial reason to go through the development of them as a consumable.

A single Elemental on it's own is not much of a threat.
I don't see us getting the chance to control a group of them, especially without having Inverse Kinetics.
However, what is to stop adding a little respawn option as a button when you spectate after death?

Most light mechs we get added pretty much have the 'go faster and boat lots of little weapons' as a theme. No other mech in any class would actually change the dynamics of a game.
If we consider them an option for the 20 ton spot, Elementals are different.
Being able to respawn lessens the fact that they are squishier than a mech, but it also creates that feeling for the opposition that there are additional targets that present different threats other that there are just 12 mechs on the other side.

Like all the mechs in MWO, Elementals would need a little tinkering to fit in with the other changes, but they would create a very different experience to anything else we have in the game.

Lancelot. High weapon-mounts, fast, no arms, various versions with energy and ballistic weapons. Exactly what I love.

You know what he'll also do in time? Remove the 'mech from the poll, without your harassment. So until then, have some patience.

Actually, you're the one harassing me now. I've got all the patience in the world. Like I said before he'll get in time. So one is enough. All my words were a simple reminder. If asking kindly for one simple request, once is considered harassment towards another person, then you need to hit the dictionary and really stay out of people's business.
